Boise or Memphis?

Who goes to the Cotton Bowl?
Boise St. Or Memphis?
What say you?
Provided they both win out of course. At this point seems like a toss up to me....me thinks the dynamics of their last matchup will possibly sway the decision?
IF, just perhaps, WE WIN and they both lose....do we get the nod?

Think it has to be Memphis. At this point, they have best G5 resume. If they beat Cincy again, it's hard to justify anyone else in front.
Personally think App should be in front of Boise and Lousiana will be a stronger opponent than Hawaii.
If we win and they both lose, it's between us and Cincy. Bearcats would have two losses but I think it would be close when you consider they got a split against Memphis playing them on the road twice and that Ohio State has killed everyone. I hope it's App but wouldn't surprised if winner of AAC has inside track no matter what.

Winner of AAC is in unless Memphis loses and Boise looks impressive. If Cincy looks impressive in their win and Boise wins big I think it will be close but CIncy gets it. The only way we get in is if Boise loses, Cincy beats Memphis in a close one, and we beat ULL by like 20 or more.
If Memphis wins then it does not matter if Boise and App both win by 40 or just one of us does. Memphis will get the spot and they should just based on resume. I think we are better but we lost to an unranked team at home in what should have been a revenge win for us. It is our fault and nobody's elses.

I think at this point it’s Memphis’ to lose.
Boise State is like us in that their opponents aren’t nearly the same caliber as the AAC. It’s them, SDSU and everyone else.

It's Memphis' to lose. Boise has been unimpressive. App just needs to smack the snot out of ULL and hope for chaos. I would love to see the committee leap frog us over some teams this week, but I'm not holding out hope. If they did, we really could be talking about somethin somethin ....

I think Hawaii can take Boise, so that'd def help but the AAC champion will probably get the nod unless something weird happens...the AAC chips just didn't fall the way we needed them to this year. Next year may be our year...

I don’t think we get in over an AAC team but I don’t really think Memphis or Cincinnati have a better “resume” than us. No doubt overall the AAC is better than the Sunbelt but I just don’t see anything that beats our our 2 P5 wins and our ULL win. Coastal and Georgia State both have P5 wins and Southern and ULM both took P5 teams to the wire. Right now I would say the Sunbelt’s image, not its reality has taken us out of the running for the Cotton Bowl.

A 2 loss AAC team will get the nod before a 1 loss App team. We lost our chance for NY6. I know we could beat cincy or boise st. I think Memphis would be a 60/40 to memphis. It would be a shootout.

Really needed Cincy to win yesterday to open the door for Navy in their championship game. ANavy win would have opened the door. Let’s just concentrate on whipping up on LA!

I’m not so sure Memphis is 60-40. We could take the air out of the ball and if that offense isn’t on the field, they ain’t scoring. Just my opinion

Memphis to Cotton Bowl. NOLA could offer a pretty good match up with La Tech or FAU...if they don't dodge us.

Boise hung 59 on Hawai’i earlier this year.

FAU won’t go to NOLA. The Boca Raton Bowl is in their home stadium - they’ll play there again if they get the chance.
La Tech could be in NOLA but it won’t be as CUSA champs, since UAB won that division.

Finding agreement in all of these discussions.....I think hypothetically if we we are 100% healthy having all our talent intact all year....yeah I know it's football.....we would be a bigger power than Memphis. Arguably our defense is better than Cincy, Boise and Memphis right now The Memphis Offense is powerful.

Yeppers had Cincy won.....A Navy opponent on paper would have been tough for Cincy in how they would matchup.

The biggest vote in favor of our resume I think is the fact our loss coming from GaS team that lost to a very strong and late season undefeated at the time Big10 team in Minnesota by 3.

With Alabama almost guaranteed to miss the CFP, there’s a decent chance they’ll end up in the Cotton Bowl. Now I’m not gonna sit here and say I wouldn’t still hope for the best and be delighted with the bid...
But we may just dodge a national audience embarrassment. I know that’s not gonna be a popular opinion, but yeah. Going to the Cotton Bowl and playing a 2 loss Notre Dame team close is one thing. But I’m pretty comfortable admitting Alabama would mop the floor with us, which would suck.

True that! Never thought about this scenario even as farfetched as it is currently.
However, and I agree with you in this scenario....look at the bright side of the exposure playing Bama in a bowl game......not gonna happen but scary and funny to think about.
It would be a pity for any G5 to play Bama.

First off.....Just win baby! Keep the chip! 1 - 0! Beat LaLa!
But on the bright side.....who would have thunk it.....that we would be having this kind of conversation 5 years ago.
