I know this has been a running joke with Ethan, but there’s at least a sliver of possibility.

The sunbelt wins if app goes to the belk, sells a bunch of tickets, plays another p5 school, collects 4 million for the conference and Louisiana plays in New Orleans and sells a ton of tickets as well. Logistically and financially, the sun belt would be dumb to not do it this way

I would hope the Sun Belt wouldn't shoot itself in the foot by taking a hard stance against leaving their bowl ties for a more prominent bowl, but it is the Sun Belt so you never really know.

I think the issue might end up being that the sun belt has 5 bowl tie ins and as many eligible teams. Not sure how they fill the other one/jump through the hoops to get a team to fill our spot in one of the 5.

If true I saw someone talking about ticket prices being so high in the lower bowl. Ok 2 ticks = 270. Flight to NO $1,000. Room for weekend 400. Tickets 100.
There shouldn’t be any complaints about the $ we save going to a Bowl in Charlotte.

A vatech app game in Charlotte would be a riot. It would be the most fun bowl ever and that includes Nola last year where I got two for one drinks and watched a funny guy sing.

I’m guessing UGA, LSU, Bama, and Florida would all need to go to NY6 bowls for this to happen.

Liberty is looking for a bowl... and they have a secondary tie in agreement with the Cure. Meaning if AAC or Sun Belt can’t fill it Liberty can have the bid.
So App to Belk, Louisiana to Nola and Liberty to Cure. Simple, the rest of the bowls per usual.

If I read correctly, there’s one more bowl-eligible team than spots available. So filling the spot wouldn’t be the issue, it would be finding a team that’s a satisfactory replacement for whoever they’d miss.
However, the fifth bowl for the SBC is Arizona, and they’re likely looking at either A-State or Georgia State. Given the travel distance, I can’t imagine either of those teams would be too difficult to replace in terms of ratings or ticket sales.

It would be interesting though if LSU, UGA, Florida, and Alabama or Auburn end up getting in though. This isn’t even a question since NY6 chances are literally 0%. Unless you think we can win by 100 and Cinci beats Memphis 3-2 with all 22 starters getting injured
