Cajuns are in Johnson City

I just happened to be staying at the Meadowview Marriot in Johnson City for work and bumped into the Ragin Cajuns at the hotel. They’re here awful early. I hope they all get car sick on the mountain roads!

I guess the covered wagon trek through Linville Gorge took it out of them last year and they decided to hike over the pass from the west this year.

None of them laughed when I started the “Mud Dogs, Mud Dogs” chant.

I’ve got an uneasy feeling them Cajun fellas are a little more focused on this game than we are.

“We”? Am I dressing Saturday?

They stayed in Johnson City last year and practiced at ETSU.

Me too! They have ZERO wins against us in football. Several of our wins were beat-downs. Napier took quite a few lumps from us while he was a Furple 'Din QB. We've been getting a LOT of positive strokes for the rankings. They'd like to take us down a few notches, step on our throats, dance on our turf and laugh in our faces on the way out of town with the SBC trophy. We'd better play lights-out or... 💀

I also remember some folks saying our guys wouldn’t be focused for S.C. That turned out pretty good. Come on guys let’s give this team the credit they deserve. So many first, so many records. Sooooo many wins. This is a great group!!!

I don't think there will be a focus issue, playing for a conference title at home, seniors playing one more game at KBS.

ULL is a really good team, if they beat App on Saturday it's because they were the better team that day.

I would have thought we'd have been focused on Georgia Southern, too, but that didn't appear to be the case. Maybe that punch in the mouth was a sobering reminder not to lose focus when a team is desperate to beat you.

There is no evidence that our team is less focused than ULL. I don't know why it would even cross someone's mind.

The number one goal has always been the conference championship. We'll be ready.

Not that I believe we are unfocused for this game, but the reason it would cross someone's mind is that we have already seen it once this season, against our biggest rival.

This team will be "dialed in" and ready to prove a point to the CFP!!! Both teams have had outside distractions, in addition to what comes with Championship Weekend. I have faith in our Seniors & Coaches 1-0!!! Keep the CHIP!!!

What possible evidence exists that would indicate that our team is one bit less focused than ULL? Do some of you guys stand on the sidelines at practice, go to class with our players, eat with them, sit in on team meetings? I am not trying to be funny just asking. We are 11-1, ranked in the top 25 of the most important poll that exists, arguably our best team EVER. We have gone on the road and beaten two P5's. We slipped up and lost a game, yeah lost one game at home in the crappiest weather possible against a decent rival team. Is the purpose of saying that ULL is more focused so that if we happen to lose you can come back and say, "see I told you"? I just don't get the negativity sometimes. God I hope we don't slip up and go 8-4 one year.

I heard that they had some better cartographers scouting the area out last spring while the weather on the mountain passes wasn't so bad. Hard to cross the Appalachians as Sir Walter Raleigh and some of his posse discovered.

Hahaha. Bad choice of words, I meant the team.

I don’t have any reason to believe they will be unfocused, but it does concern me a little bit.

ULL has one goal, win the SBC.

For App, there’s been a lot of extra noise around us this week between Belk Bowl/CFP Rankings/Drinkwitz & Arkansas.

Us discussing here doesn’t effect the team at all, I just hope they are focused.

They've experienced just as much coaching change talk. Napier to Ole Miss is very likely.

I wonder if they have come across the classy establishment known as the Fuzzy Navel in JC. Seems like a Cajun-friendly place.

If the electric cowboy was still open, they’d be in serious trouble.
