Re: NOLA Bowl Game Opponent
I like New Orleans Bowl tie in, especially since I live in LA now, but wish Sun Belt could negotiate a future requirement that Conference USA has to also send their conference champ. It indirectly gives Conference USA a way of conveying their conference champion is too good for the bowl, which reflects poorly on the New Orleans Bowl as well. Or at least require it if Sunbelt Champ is ranked higher than the Conf USA champ.

Charlotte's going to the Bahamas Bowl.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 2:15 pmLa Tech will be the home team and we are undefeated on the road. I’d be cool with them or Marshal. If we get UAB or Charlotte, not so much. We already know S Miss won’t play us.

I’m seeing it’s UAB... pretty sure I heard on the Cover 3 Podcast that they have the worst strength of schedule in the country meaning their record is incredibly inflated... goody.

Two ways App can approach this: disappointment or fuel. I, for one, would be using this as fuel and it buys right into Drinks chip mantra.
Leave no doubt.

That is if Drink is even our coach.
I think if we go into it not taking our foot off the gas we win by 40. If we go into it like we did against Texas State then who knows. It will be determined by which team shows up. No more prevent D please.

At least bad weather will not be an issue..LOL. Hopefully, we sale a ton of tickets and prove to future bowls that we travel well no matter who we line up against. Let's GO APP NATION!!!

Re: NOLA Bowl Game Opponent
Of all the speculative opponents, this was the one I most hoped would not happen.
The only silver lining is a lot of teams in front of us will loose, we could be looking at a top 15-17 finish. If we think we are above playing UAB then we have to go prove it,from start to FINISH.
Just finished watching the replay after getting back from Boone earlier. We did ourselves no favors in that last 20 minutes and of course the first half on Halloween.
Nitpicking of course, 12-1 is magical and could very well be the best season we ever have, who knows, let’s beat the hell out of UAB and keep building.
PS - I disagree with the sentiment that we would not be going to the cotton bowl if we had beat the stink.

NOLA is a great destination. Love our team and its achievements. UAB is an inferior opponent. We need to skull drag their butts up and down the French Quarter.

Sunbelt favored in 4/5 bowls by Vegas as of now. Two double digit spreads for App & ULLLLLLLL, only G-State-U a dog to Wyoming. Need to dominated bowl season and have a Commish that pushes the brand to get better matchups. Champ should not be playing less than Champ from C-USA, or MAC, or MWC. Champ should have P5 opponent or a champ from peer league.

We've been the inferior opponent in every bowl per our opponent......UAB is not that bad and hungry to reestablish itself. We need to respect these guys.

UAB fans just want to erase their horrendous CCG performance from their minds, and hope that our transition and distractions will give them a shot to keep it close and maybe pull it out. Middle Tennessee replies, "Don't count on it."

GSU would be the only one I'd say would lose, especially given their limping QB (assuming he's still playing).

UAB was never established in the first place....
No offense to their program or the 2019 team.
They had exactly three winning seasons between 1996 and 2014.

Don't hate UAB but do hope we win 60-0 to show someone in charge this shouldn't happen.
