NOLA Bowl Game Opponent

ESPN has our bowl game vs La. Tech. Nothing against the Bulldogs but was hoping for a higher profile team and a tougher test. Thoughts?

I would rather go to the Cure and play SMU, UCF or Cincinnati. I want a AAC team, but will be fine in NOLA with who we play. Toledo didn't like they had to play us again. They thought they should've been matched up against a better team than App. We won 34-0.

I went last year just can’t go this year due to family obligations. It was a fun time!

Proud of this team just wish they could have finished with a cool bowl game and out of selfish reasons one that I could have attended.

Holtz doesn't take bowl season off either. While it is likely to be a good game with a decent environment, it is a let down, should it happen.

I'm thinking the App admin, and really every other school, should really make a push that the Sun Belt get to work for 2020-2025 tie-ins. The current situation cost the conference millions.

Bowl tie ins were created when the SBC was 5th of the G5 conferences. Things reset next year I hope the conference gets respect.

Whoever we get will play us tough no doubt. We as fans have a right to want a better bowl. We have had an amazing season. That being said keep the chip.

I also want a different bowl for selfish reasons and not just the opponent. I want one that I can drive to and be on a different date than the NO bowl.

Yeah, but App State isn't Toledo and Drinkwitz isn't candle. Thought they were more irritated about having the same opponent. App also has more to play for here and that is a Top 20 ranking to end the season and building momentum. It will be needed with Out of Conference games, early, against Wisconsin and Wake Forest.

Their tie-ins are as bad as ours relative to where their fans are located and that was also an issue for them, as it should've been. They won 11 games and were rewarded by playing in Vladimir Peebles.

We earned the right to represent the Sun Belt in NOLA as Conf Champion. We did not EARN the Cotton Bowl bid thanks to a horrible loss to Ga Southern. We may merit a better opponent but we knew the BELT only has 5 tie-ins. Disappointed with NOLA, not me. Wish we would play in the Liberty or Belk Bowls...APPsolutely...but I refuse to be disappointed.
