One of the silver linings is that next year's roster is very strong and will help with the transition of the new coach. If we were hiring after next year, they'd be coming into a situation with almost an entirely new offense.
I just hope that Drinkwitz doesn’t pull a “General Sherman” and burn Atlanta on his way out! I don’t remember the source (It could have been SC) but I heard that there was a possibility of Darrynton Evans entering the transfer portal. I would lose all respect for Drinkwitz if he were to raid our players, our coaching staff and OUR recruits!
NO need to panic.
Not sure about panic. I’ll call it concern at this point. We already have two “decommits” at this point per 247. Typically, recruits hate uncertainty. We will have had three HCs in three years. I believe that early signing is in eight days. By then we should know much more about staff retention and the state of 2020 recruiting. Panic may still not describe the situation. Try disgust.
Who are the decommitts?

Stop. We have zero decommitments due to the coaching change. The two on 247 are Khalil Griffin (mutual parting of ways back in June, basically recruited over) and K'Ron Ferrell (App cut off this relationship due to grades).

Read it again! I did not say that the decommits were a result of Drinkwitz leaving. I simply stated a fact.

Based on how all the players have reacted, I'd be shocked if Drink takes any to Mizzu

Use your common sense if you're an App fan. The "d" word should be strictly taboo at this ultra sensitive time. Furthermore, your transfer of information from a pay site to a free site isn't too kool!

Fair enough. I think we should hold off on the panic about recruits, though. We were able to hold more than most people expected last year during the coaching transition. Plus, all 4 that left after the coaching change went to P5s. Conley and Tunall were the only 2 we had a chance at holding anyway. Williams and Nelson were gone even if Satt stayed.

Programs with a winning football culture promote from within. What do the coaches at all four playoff teams have in common? All were assistants on staff whom were elevated to head coach.

What a great observation. This and Boise are certainly something we should consider.

We probably are close to losing some signed from ‘18 because their guy is gone, some commits for ‘19 because of uncertainty, ‘20 who knows. That ought to equal 2 classes.
