Conference USA is a big HELL NO. Absolutely no.

AAC is a big HELL YES. Absolutely yes. Probably just football though.

I've looked over the SunBelt conference history. On average, teams stay for at least 8-15 years before they transfer to another conference...which turns out to be Conference USA. So far, we've been in the 'Belt for almost 6 years now. Just need to continue for at least 4-5 more years. I know, it sucks but that's how NCAA works.

I will say this: if we really want to transfer into a conference like AAC, we MUST improve in basketball big time or we're not going anywhere anytime soon. We still lose to teams like Furman & Western Carolina every season :(

Frankly, I’m not holding my breath for an AAC invite. Competitive-wise we are ready but budgetary-wise we have a ways to go. I’m not sure it’s the slam dunk everyone thinks it is.
The AAC would have been a long, difficult reach for us before Covid-19. It's most definitely out-of-the-question now until we completely recover from Covid-19 2020+. We're presently at the bottom of a deep, deep foul-water well with neither rope nor ladder to rescue ourselves. If we have a Lieutenant General Sir Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks type among our 130,000 living alumni, we need for him to make himself known to Doug G. and/or Suzette M.--and sooner rather than later!
If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

I have zero interest in CUSA and I struggle to see us getting in the AAC.

The situation we currently have in the Sun Belt is optimal. We have a strong enough brand that we can control our destiny for the NY6 which is the end goal of every G5 team.
