To piggyback off of 94....he has a list of quality targets but DG is heavily involved in staff hires, so each selection has to be discussed and evaluated by DG. There have already been some discussions about certain individuals- I've heard one name that Clark wants for sure, and I've heard another that the BOT threw around and would kind of give me cause to go take a shower.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2019 8:41 amOther than Jones? Not really. He has his staff in mind and has probably got some handshake agreements in place, but I wouldn’t expect much until after NY in terms of an announcement. I believe that he is taking some much deserved time off.appfan1991 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2019 7:26 amAre there any solid leads / names for Clark's new staff floating around?

Agreed. BOT does not and will not be a part of the staff hiring process -- unless more money is needed for said staff..

It'd be nice to see other coaches follow this methodology as well, so we don't have to replace everyone. I agree with Saban and Bill on this..

I think you know that Riley is going to be announced as the Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach.

Re: Who stays, who goes?
My biggest question mark is who will replace Clark as the Oline coach? Former App OL? Someone that Clark has played with or coached? Be cool for Kilgore to come back with his NFL experience.

What kind of message would it send if Clark continued to coach the O line? Outside of QB the line is the most important offensive position group.booneboy92 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2019 11:45 amLance Ware is who I’ve had in mind.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2019 10:31 amMy biggest question mark is who will replace Clark as the Oline coach? Would Coach Clark have any interest in Des Kitchings from state college? He seems to have a reputation as an excellent recruiter.

Uh, I would argue that the OL IS the most important position group. It always starts up front.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2019 12:45 pmWhat kind of message would it send if Clark continued to coach the O line? Re: Who stays, who goes?
Kitchings isn't being retained at State for a reason. He's one of several who are Doeren's scapegoats for a 4-8 campaign (1-7 ACC). Don't see how we help ourselves with the guy that helped to produce the following terrible offensive numbers. NC State finished 106th nationally in yards per play and 107th in scoring. No interest here!'75App wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 8:14 amWould Coach Clark have any interest in Des Kitchings from state college? He seems to have a reputation as an excellent recruiter.

Re: Who stays, who goes?
According to Football Scoop, Dale Jones returning to App in a senior role on the defense. Don't know what that role is.

Re: Who stays, who goes?
Maybe he comes back as a senior defensive analyst for three years so he can be back in Boone and get the pension AppSt94 mentioned earlier in this thread.

Re: Who stays, who goes?
The BOT is not involved other than perhaps one direct relationship with an aforementioned position coach. It’s not unusual, if not the norm for an AD,especially when previous employees are being considered.

Re: Who stays, who goes?
I would have no problem with Jones getting his state pension but I sure hope that’s not the only reason he wants to come back.
