Re: 17 points to UAB
From the sentiments of the players tweets about our coaching change, I will take the points on this one. UAB isn't going to know what hit them.

Re: 17 points to UAB
I'm expecting a Harlem Globetrotters vs. Washington Generals kind of game, both in score and play calling

Re: 17 points to UAB
UAB ain't no slouch. I think the game is close in the first half. In the second half the D starts to dominate and the offense starts showing off. App more than covers, but it looks in doubt for a half.

Re: 17 points to UAB
This game is a nightmare scenario for us.
Win by 50 and we are supposed to.
Win by 10 and people ask questions given their performance against FAU.
Lose and we probably fall out of the rankings completely.
I’d MUCH rather be the underdog or be a very close favorite here.

I don't know, like Winston Wolfe stated in the Movie Pulp Fiction, "Well, let's not start .....quite yet"

We’ll be up by 17 before the start of the 2nd quarter. The game will be completely out of hand by halftime. UAB is gonna stand for Ur Apps Bitch after the beat down they’re going to take. Our guys are rightfully pissed and anger is a helluva motivator.

Re: 17 points to UAB
If we lose we will fall out of the top 25 for sure. UAB is not the CUSA Champs. We need to put it on these guys. I hope we beat them 50-0. It would be a good statement for Shawn Clark to make for the job and help set us up for next year.ah59396 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 1:21 pmThis game is a nightmare scenario for us.

Re: 17 points to UAB
I do fully expect us to win this game, and hopefully by a ridiculous margin... However... No matter how you look at them or their record, UAB is still an FBS conference runner-up and, I’m sure, a better team than Texas St. (remember that 1st half), with everything to gain and nothing to lose. That said, I think our guys will be playing their hearts out for Shawn Clark, and playing to win by 50! Have at it boys!!!

I want to see a game where anybody in a Mountaineer uniform not in danger of losing a red-shirt gets on the field...

I try not to take any game for granted because even if it's unlikely, nothing in life and especially in sports is 100%.booneboy92 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 1:50 pmI do fully expect us to win this game, and hopefully by a ridiculous margin... Having said that, UAB appears to rate in the metrics somewhere around the level of Troy/Georgia State/UL Monroe. None of those games were particularly close although both ULM and Georgia State did have early leads.
I would probably expect App to win this by around three touchdowns or so.

Re: 17 points to UAB
They are indeed a conference runner-up but god look at the conference. I had pointed out on another thread that they beat 1 team with a winning record (and in that game La Tech was without their suspended QB and best receiver). They beat a winless Akron, two one win teams in ODU and UTEP, a two win South Alabama, a three win Rice and two four win teams in USTS and North Texas. They also beat Alabama State by 5 points. They avoided Marshall and UNCC. There can't be any other top 20 team who gets such a horrific opponent. The only way this game looks bad is if somehow we lose.

Might not look great if we win by a field goal or touchdown either, but at least it'd be a win.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 2:19 pmThey are indeed a conference runner-up but god look at the conference. Re: 17 points to UAB
If we play defense like we did in the 4th quarter of the championship game it will be close.
