Nate Woody and Dale Jones
They love it here and want to come back...let’s circle the wagons with folks that love this place and although not alums, they understand the term the Appalachian Family...the Appalachian Way! Everyone should swallow some pride and do what’s best for Yosef!

Re: Nate Woody and Dale Jones
I’ve seen a lot of people on here say Ivey doesn’t have the best relationship with the school after leaving last year after not getting the job. I’m not saying it’s the truth because a lot of things get said on this board that aren’t, but if that’s true then who knows how open to it he would be.
I’m not sure either of them would leave unless it was for the DC spot too so idk how that would go. Would love to see both of them in the black and gold again though.

Woody would come back ...he’s still getting paid by Ga.Tech and he’d come back as a positions coach if Gasparito became DC.

Dear god is it August 2020 yet? I’ve got a throbber for App State football like I haven’t had in years.
I think it’s time for another YC donation.

Well hell, whats the hold up? Getting Woody back here would be fantastic! Jones too. That would be terrific.PBR1893-BEER-HAT-GUY wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 6:55 pmWoody would come back ...he’s still getting paid by Ga.Tech and he’d come back as a positions coach if Gasparito became DC.

Re: Nate Woody and Dale Jones
Why? I was not the least bit disappointed when Dale Jones left, and both he and Woody have long since been replaced. I guess you long for the good old days that really were not all that good, maybe?

I think a lot of people, admin and players, don’t care for woody to come back.
Not sure what your issues are with dale jones, but he is one of the best in the biz and if he wants to come back, we should make it happen.
Ivey and Jones both left upset with drinkquits, although I don’t really blame either side for what went down.
Ivey may be open to coming back under the right circumstances

Coincidentally, the title of this thread includes the word “Woody”.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 7:01 pmDear god is it August 2020 yet? I’ve got a throbber for App State football like I haven’t had in years.

Woodys Defenses swarmed and were good. He made fantastic in game adjustments. But we also had some really big defensive letdowns to go along with that.

Re: Nate Woody and Dale Jones
I see a lot of love for Dale Jones, and he was a great position coach but my recollection was that he was pretty bad as a DC and Satterfield demoted him in order to bring in Woody. Would you guys be ok with bringing him back as a DC (if that position were open)? I would be interested in hearing people's opinions, especially since most seem to discount any possibility of Roof ever being a HC again (based on poor performance at Duke 15 years ago), even though his experience has been pretty high quality since then.

Re: Nate Woody and Dale Jones
Let's let Shawn Clark pick whom he thinks he is the best fit. I think it is telling that Drinkquits has reportedly retained a number of defensive coaches at Missouri.

I remember this as well. That's my main cause for consternation with Jones.Yosef84 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 9:18 amI see a lot of love for Dale Jones, and he was a great position coach but my recollection was that he was pretty bad as a DC and Satterfield demoted him in order to bring in Woody. I'm going to trust Clark to put the staff together as he sees fit.

I just want whoever can recruit studs. If we can lure a few 6'6" 300 lb road graders that would be cool also.

Re: Nate Woody and Dale Jones
For the record, I have nothing against Dale Jones and I completely agree that Shawn Clark should (and I'm sure will) pick whomever he decides is best. I'll support the coaches regardless.
