Show some Mountain love..... be kind....

A roller coaster of emotions this week. Seems we've settled on our new coach. Awesome!
For the departing Drinkwitz family, I trust they'll be shown some mountain love, help and respect as they move to Missouri. As a former college football head coaches kid, the impacts of negativity hurled at family members is never forgotten. Even in my more seasoned years, the words expressed, the ugly stares around town etc, remain vivid.
We are all proud to be Mountaineers. While the Drinkwitz family time has been short with App State, send them off with positives instead of negatives. It's the Christmas season, express a little love instead of the garbage we deal with in this world of knee jerk negative responses. In short, don't be that person a Drinkwitz child remembers in their 50s.

I had suggested that all Drinkwitz related threads simply get deleted. Someone commented that they would die on their own. Hopefully but doubtful. Some folks can't let it go and move on. We will be in great shape with Shawn. Go Apps!!

Classy post, WXAPP! There's no reason to hold any grudges toward Coach Drink and I would hope that Mountaineers would never act in a classless way towards his family! Who can blame the man for wanting his daughter to be born on the mountain! He did what he was supposed to do for the brief time he was here. I hope he does well (although never beating Georgia).

There is an appropriate and safe way to express feelings of rejection and anger. (I say this with 40 yrs of pastoral counseling experiece). It is ok to do so. Then let it go and move on. As I said in another forum. This is not cancer research, rocket science or deep theology. Its a about a football coach.

In this chosen profession you have to make choices and taking care of ones family comes first. I was mad but I’m over it and wish the Drinkwitz family a Merry Christmas. Even more so I pray that the Missouri fans won’t eat him alive. I have that gut feeling that we’ve been much kinder to him than they will.

Yeah, I hope they all have a thick skin. Coach Drink's sizable check will come with a never ending flow of stupid, if things don't go well in a few years.
