Disclaimer: these are in the Garden District. Locals eat and live here, not in touristy French QTR.
1. Juan’s Flying Burrito - Huge Local Favorite, Mexican Type with Creole Twist.
The fresh gulf shrimp tacos were amazing. Also the Jerk Chicken Burrito was magnificent.
2. District Donuts Sliders Brew on Magazine Street
3. LuLa Restaurant Distillery
Best fish I ate in New Orleans and classy cocktails.
4. Commander’s Palace by Lafayette Cemetery #1. They have a very nice Brunch
I hope this helps!
[Second on Commander's Palace plus it is a nice area. Worth dropping by Lafayette Cemetery #1 while you are there...interesting history, kind of eerie, lots of movie scenes filmed there.

Mother's, Brennan's, Two Sisters, Acme, and Galatoires. The muffelatas at Central Grocery are incredible!

Willies Chicken Shack
Cafe Du Monde. Love the coffee and Beignets. My kids looked like Tony Montana, powder sugar all over their faces, licking the plates. We ate there 3-4 times in 48 hours.

If you go back try Cafe Beignets ... you can thank me later! Like I said I looked I had been doing lines of coke after I left with my black shirt on.appstatealum wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 7:19 pmWillies Chicken Shack

I feel like Willie’s needs more love on this thread. Sure there are lots of places for a great lunch or dinner, but can you go to those when it’s 1 am and you want something to soak up the hurricanes (while also ordering another hurricane)?

Gotta get a muffuletta at Central Grocery, right near the market... They invented them! Mother’s is the real deal too!

Copeland's is good Cajun food. I ate at the one in Slidell which is just on the other side of Lake Pontchartrain but they have a couple of other places in downtown. (also a couple in Atl)

I have a friend born, raised and still living in New Orleans. Her favorites are: Peche, Meril, Borne, Cochon, Tchoup House, Irene's Italian and Mother's.
I’ve been to Peche and it was outstanding.
