Always wondered about that place. Walked by many times, and it was my dad's name.

Good food, Dixie beer, nice patio, and the manager was super nice. Stopped here for a quick lunch/beer before flying home.

Garden District Solid Recommendations from 2018 (All recommendations were from New Orleans Locals)
Disclaimer: these are in the Garden District. Locals eat and live here, not in touristy French QTR.
1. Juan’s Flying Burrito - Huge Local Favorite, Mexican Type with Creole Twist.
The fresh gulf shrimp tacos were amazing. Also the Jerk Chicken Burrito was magnificent.
2. District Donuts Sliders Brew on Magazine Street
3. LuLa Restaurant Distillery
Best fish I ate in New Orleans and classy cocktails.
4. Commander’s Palace by Lafayette Cemetery #1. They have a very nice Brunch
I hope this helps!

The Ruber Slipper is really good, ACME is the best grillled oysters I have ever had and I don't go to New Orleans without at least one stop there, Cafe Du Monde and Cafe Beignet are both good but I do prefer the former, any of the Brennans places are all good but can be pricey, Peche seafood is really good as well but can also be pricey, Commanders Palace is an institution in the garden district but again can be pricey. Turkey and the Wolf is a funky sandwich shop with good food, I like Parkway Bakery and Tavern for the Po Boys as they are huge and great quality.
Pretty much anywhere you go to eat will be good in that city, bad restaurants just don't last. So if in doubt, just pick a place that has been there for a bit and it will be good.

Mr. B's Bistro
Within a block of the Marriott.
Unbelievably good gumbo & all things Cajun. Expensive, but worth it (I am not kidding).
Their recipes can be found online. The gumbo recipe makes about 5 gallons at a time. I have made it (actually, my wife has) about 4 times since last year. It's that good. I have even had it for breakfast. I think I have some in the freezer now. We will probably do lunch on Saturday there.

Don’t go to acme or ruby slipper....terrible....I wouldn’t go there after I went twice to both in two days...in fact, I heard they both closed...no need to get in line and take up any reservations. Terrible...so bad I’ll probably go three times this year..

Port o call is the only place I went that I feel like returning to is something I have to do, no matter what else happens on the visit. Maybe even of equal importance to the game itself... Commander's Palace met absurdly high expectations, but I wouldn't feel like I'm missing out by not going on every visit. Something called blue line sandwich company that I happened across was really good. Bourbon milk punch from bourbon house will be another repeat. I'll probably get a hotdog in the superdome again. Other places are less memorable due to surrounding circumstances and questionable decisions.

Haven't been there for some time but Commander's Palace - it is always rated one of the top restaurants in the country - Mother's for the best roast beef sandwiches and Mr. B's Bistro was our favorite -

Pat O'Brien's is a great spot off Bourbon to eat and drink.
