4:30 PM Presser to Introduce Head Football Coach

BOONE, N.C. — App State will hold a press conference to introduce its new head football coach at 4:30 p.m. on Friday in the Ricks Athletics Complex. The press conference, which is open to the public, will take place on the fifth floor of the building, overlooking Kidd Brewer Stadium from the west side club level. Fans unable to attend can still watch the press conference, which will be streamed live on App State Football's Facebook page.

Nothing fake about Shawn Clark. The love he has for this program and university oozes from him. He truly is the embodiment of the culture that exists on the Mountain! Loved every single second of it!

Great day to be a mountaineer. My wife and feeling the same emotions Coach! Cried at my wedding, my son being born, my daughter being born, and when a true Mountaineer was being named Head Coach at our Alma mater.

It wasn't just me who wanted him to throw in "sandpaper that ass" at some point, right?

I have never cried at a presser. Wife and I both cried. This one is different. It feels so different. I dunno I just don’t think he puts money that high up on the totem pole. He seems so down to earth. It reminded of the lunch pale that VaTech had. He appears to embody that type of work ethic. He loves it here and bleeds black and gold. I don’t think he bolts for a while if ever. Great guy. He sounds like he is happy beyond belief and not a fake happy but like he has been waiting for this day a long time.

I had no idea what kind of recruiter he is before today. But after watching that presser I came away sold 100%. If that man walked into your house to talk to your son about playing at App, how would you feel? I know after about 5 minutes I would have been packing my son's stuff up and try to send him with Shawn on the spot. App is special, Shawn knows that. This program is like one of his children and I know it is in good hands! #sandpaperUAB
