THE GAME
It’s game week, well close enough. I for one am done with all the coaching change stuff and the we didn’t get the right bowl or the right opponent stuff. Who has observations about the actual game? What are we expecting from our new head coach? How are the players going to respond and who’s going to shine in NOLA. What do we need to know about UAB? What does the schedule for the week look like for our guys? Anybody actually talk to any of the coaches or players this week, what was your take away?

Re: THE GAME
UAB has a couple of Athletes, but they aren't much more than a mediocre team this year. Their favorable schedule is what landed them the opportunity to get crushed by our Mountaineers. We are better than them on ALL fronts. If our guys come out playing as inspired football as I think they will, this will be a beat down of epic proportions. No amount of scheming on UAB's behalf should slow us down.
My prediction.... 63-10. #SPTA #TIGMA

Re: THE GAME
I’ve watched 2 of their replay games since yesterday. Defense is pretty solid and they swarm the ball. Don’t they they can stop our high powered offense though. I would put their offense on the same level as Texas State or South Alabama. Maybe not as good. Our D tends to get rabid in bowl games which is what I thrive on.

Re: THE GAME
Considering they throttled South Alabama 35-3, had 2 turnovers and over 500 yards of offense, I think your analysis is a bit overstated. Maybe they aren’t the same team now, but if the team disrespects this opponent as much as our fans are it will be a long day.GoBoone wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 10:45 amI’ve watched 2 of their replay games since yesterday. Re: THE GAME
#8 SJC should have redemption on his mind after his performance against ULL. Akeem, Josh and Fehr are going to want to go out big. D. Taylor feeds off crowd energy and we all know what Jolly will do if they throw his way. I wouldn't be surprised to see 14pts from the defense.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 10:58 amSo is the D going to put up some of those 60+ points predicted by Appstatealum?GoBoone wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 10:45 amI’ve watched 2 of their replay games since yesterday. Re: THE GAME
This is what I’ve been saying here, on Twitter, and everywhere else anyone would listen. We should boat race them and win going away. HOWEVAH! UAB ain’t no slouch. They are going to come out hyped up and throw the hardest punches they can. I think our boys handle it, but it’s going to be closer than some people think, at least for the first half.Boonegoon wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 11:07 amConsidering they throttled South Alabama 35-3, had 2 turnovers and over 500 yards of offense, I think your analysis is a bit overstated. Re: THE GAME
They have good athletes, but they press. That works with bad teams, but if they do that against a disciplined App offense/defense.... It's lights out early folks.Boonegoon wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 11:07 amConsidering they throttled South Alabama 35-3, had 2 turnovers and over 500 yards of offense, I think your analysis is a bit overstated. I believe we will use tightends and screens early and more than we have all year. That'll loosen up the 3-headed run machine - lights out.

Re: THE GAME
I felt they were basically on par with MTSU last year (lost by 20+ last week of the regular season, beat them by 2 in the title game). Given that plus their loss last week to FAU, I think it’s fair to say we’re much better than them. I don’t know more than that in detail, but I think as long as our players aren’t too “fat and happy,” we win big.

Re: THE GAME
Yeah our D really put up some points this year. Just working from memory, D put up TD’s on UNC, USC, GS and ULL. I might have missed some but that alone is stout and that’s how you win football games.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 11:10 am#8 SJC should have redemption on his mind after his performance against ULL. Is there something about the UAB defense that makes you think this or is it more about the coaching change?appfan1991 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 11:24 amI believe we will use tightends and screens early and more than we have all year. That'll loosen up the 3-headed run machine - lights out.

Re: THE GAME
Coaching change - it's a wrinkle that has not been utilized much at all this season - Drink basically used TEs for blocking - Both Reed & Pearson have great hands.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 11:29 amIs there something about the UAB defense that makes you think this or is it more about the coaching change?appfan1991 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 11:24 amI believe we will use tightends and screens early and more than we have all year. Yep. I can promise you that we will see more of Pearson next Saturday. This guy apparently is incredible and Watts is probably ready to show him off.appfan1991 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 11:54 amCoaching change - it's a wrinkle that has not been utilized much at all this season - Drink basically used TEs for blocking - Both Reed & Pearson have great hands.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 11:29 amIs there something about the UAB defense that makes you think this or is it more about the coaching change?appfan1991 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 11:24 amI believe we will use tightends and screens early and more than we have all year. It always makes me laugh when those of us (mostly old alumni) get chided for predicting blowouts by our boys. Well we haven’t blown all of them out but we have won 12 of 13. One more ass kicking by the Apps!

Again, Some App fans will disrespect UAB but Shawn Clark will not and he will make sure the team doesn’t either.General Moore wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 12:38 pmSouth Alabama was a 2-10 team.Boonegoon wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 11:07 amConsidering they throttled South Alabama 35-3, had 2 turnovers and over 500 yards of offense, I think your analysis is a bit overstated. Re: THE GAME
I know nothing about UAB. It may be a heck of a game. We may get beat. But I HOPE we dominate this game like no other this year and put up the most points and yards on offense by far on the season. Anyone know the most yards in a single game we put up this season?
