Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but I'm not locating it. Anyone seen Clark's new contract figures? Was it a 5 year deal like his predecessor's? He mentioned his buyout being prohibitively large during his intro presser, so I'm curious to know what those figures are too.

Generally, the buyout is based on the remaining balance of the coaches contract. I’m not sure that it can exceed that. It is possible that his base is higher and his media rights are smaller. That would increase the buyout over what Drinks was.

I hope Shawn Clark gets his massive pay day, I really do...but any chance DG uses (or Clark agrees) Clark's love for Appalachian to save money on the head coach's salary to spend it on better assistants...ala NBA stars declining super max deals so the team can afford more talent around them?

I could see how doing that would be the best thing for App *right now* but might send a bad message (that we're cheap) to future coaching candidates.
