All-Time Records

Unread post by TIGMA15 » Mon Dec 23, 2019 3:40 pm

While accomplishing nothing at work today I thought I would go check out App State Football's Record holders.
Very cool to go back and see some names I have never seen or haven't seen in a while. We have quite a range of fans in the forum so I'd be curious to hear stories from others.

Here's the link:

My Personal names of note:

Sean Price- A story of what could have been, likely a top 2 round draft pick...
Bjorn Nittmo- Read through his Wiki page, sad story of how Football has negatively impacted his life... Does App State reach out to old players like him?
"Simms McElfresh" - still one of the greatest names. "Struggy Smith" is a close one!

So Evans will land just outside the Top 10 in career rushing yards, with a chance to finish 5th or 6th if he repeats this season.
His 1480 yards this season is the 4th best season rushing ever.
He's tied for 7th with Deandre Pressley with 25 career rushing TD's and his 18 Rushing TD's this year tied with Armanti's 2009 season for 7th best in a single season.

Hennigan's 125 career catches leave him 9 short of breaking into the Top 10 and his 14 Career TD Receptions place him in a four way tie for 7th all time.

Corey Sutton's 1418 career receiving yards leaves him 314 yards short of cracking into the Top 10.

His 17 career TD's place him in a tie for 5th all-time with Dexter Jackson. Eight more TD catches would place him tied for 2nd all-time

Zac Thomas had 2718 passing yards this season, which is the 6th best season of all time.

His 47 career passing TD's place him 4th all time and his 28 TD passes this season is the 3rd Best Single Season of all time.

He's also 9th in total offense at 5,771 and his 3,158 is the 9th best Single Season of Total Offense all time.

He is tied for 4th in Career Total Touchdowns with 66 and his 34 this season is 5th Best for Total TD's in a season.

If we ever wonder who our all time player was just look at all the time Armanti Edward's is listed in the record books. Forget sometimes the magic he brought when he was on the field.

Just the fact that he is our all time leading passer and fourth leading rusher is insane. One piece I found interesting was his total yards increased each year, 3404/3536/3843/3970. That's just not fair, and then you add in the 139 total touchdowns which is another unreal number. We have been very spoiled! And don't get me started on the RBs that have rocked the Black and Gold!

Richie Williams with 517 yards in one game is crazy. Most teams don't even get 500 total yards in a game. That record will stand for a very long time.
AppState89 AKA Robert Martin :D :D
