2020 Depth Chart

Anyone smarter than me have an idea of what our 2 deep 2020 depth chart will look like? Certainly senior heavy I would assume.

This years was:

Special Teams:

Kickoff: Staton JR., Ryker FR.
Placekicker: Staton JR., Ryker FR.
Punter: Subotsch JR., Powell SO.
Longsnapper: Johnstone FR., Appling SR

Losing: 1
Upcoming Seniors: 2

Defense:

Line: Taylor JR., Dawkins JR.
Line: Scott SR., Blackstock SO.
Line: Diarrassouba JR., Spurlin JR.
LB: Cook SR., Hampton FR.
LB: Fehr SR., Bird SO.
LB: Davis-Gaithere SR., Brown FR.
LB: Jackson SO., Cobb SO.
CB: Sean-Charles JR., Jones SO.
CB: Jolly SO., Edwards SR.
SS: Thomas SR., Ross FR.
FS: Franklin SR., Smith JR.

Losing: 7
Upcoming Seniors: 6

Offense:

TE: Reed SR., Pearson SO.
OL: Johnson SR., Garrison JR.
OL: Neuzil JR., Cave SR.
OL: Hannon JR., Reyes SR.
OL: Baer JR., Williams SR.
OL: Hodges FR., Hardy FR.
QB: Thomas JR., Huesman JR.
WR: Hennigan JR., Watson SR.
WR: Williams JR., Watson SR.
WR: Sutton JR., Virgil JR.
RB: Evans SR., Williams Jr. JR.

Losing: 7 (plus 3 more OL depth)
Upcoming Seniors: 10

Overall we are losing 18 players. 1 special teams depth player. 6 defensive starters and 1 in the 2 deep. 3 offensive starters, 4 In the 2 deep and further down the line depth players.

Next year we have 18 returning players in the 2 deep alone. What is your projected starting line up. And here at App we are known to reload every year...but does 2021 look a bit concerning to anyone else?

Would need to revise the RB now.

No I counted Evan's as a lost player.

See that now.

RB is a little weird for me now.

We don’t know how People’s will be after the injury. Is Harrington the very down back with Williams Jr the change of pace back?

Willis will be back, add him to the 2 Deep on DL.

I think Peoples is good to go even today....

Marcus might start with the Starter role, but Cam will take it over in short time. Should be:
Cam, Marcus, Harrington. You will see alot of balance between the three, similar to the way they finished the year with Evans.

Let's not forget Raykwon Anderson here. Has that Darren Sproles look to me.

True, but he still seems so raw to me. I think we were just so light at the position that it forced them to play him.

Not sure after this past year you can say Cam will be the starter over Marcus at any point next year barring injury. Marcus is majorly slept on.

I can agree with that. I don't think he'll ever be an every down back but can certainly see him as the change of speed guy, much like Steven Miller back in 2011.

Anderson has the desire and ability to be special.

Yes Yosef10 I agree. I have felt the same about MW. To me he should have had at least 25% more snaps this season. He is a much better interior runner... more physical plus he can pick his way through traffic. This is no disrespect to DE. All you have to think about is all those carries all season where DE ran in the A gap or off tackle for a yard. DE has elite skills and he will find his way at the next level. The stat during the Bowl broadcast that he, Mccaffrey and Chris Johnson are the only players at the collegiate level in the last 20 yrs to run for 1400 yds, receive for a certain number yds and score two kickoff tds…… MW is a horse.

MWJ is the starter. He can find holes, catch out of the back field and make people miss. Everyone else, Raykwon, Harrington, Cam, all are great, but Williams is the most reliable, dependable, and consistent of the bunch. We also haven’t had a chance to see what he can do with the lion’s share of the carries. He could be even better than we realize.

Yes, 2021 has some major unanswered questions. Of course that’s not entirely unusual this far in advance. But DL, OL (besides Hodges), WR and of course QB are complete unknowns as of now.

I remember ZT saying that raykwon surprised him with how polished his routes were and how impressive he was as a receiver in fall camp for a true freshman. If Williams, Harrington and peoples can stay healthy, I would like to see raykwon moved to the slot. I also think he can take over at KR. Very explosive with the ball in his hands

Tougher schedule in 2020 as well.

Wisconsin will be a top 10-15 team, Wake will be a close game, and we gain Ark St while losing USA.

Agreed. And those changes should help us secure the NY6 a little easier. Say we go 1-1 against the P5's and undefeated the rest of the way, I'd think with the head start on the ranking next year, we will be in good shape. #BeatMorganState

You are right. That's why I think he starts out of the gate. I just think Cam has that X-Factor that we will want to see more of on first and second down and he will really be pushing for snaps. MWjr is probably my favorite runner since KRich bc he is not afraid to lower the boom on a tackler. I always called him "The Closer" because he is that back that you need to grind out the clock when a defense has their back against the wall. I was so happy to see him get the volume this year that he deserved.

Plus we go to Ga Southern. It will be a tall task to match this year's record even though we could be as good or even better.

MW is the most deserving of the starters role. I think DH and People’s will factor in as well. Don’t sleep on Raykwon though. He is raw, but he is the one that most resembles DE in terms of breakaway speed and ability.
