Only a $10k bonus if he wins a NY6 bowl game?! I’m tempted to match that. I’m not going to commit because I think it’s coming sooner than we think.

Hopefully if he does well enough to warrant an extension, we bump up the buyout number in those later years.

This is probably my favorite part: "His family is allowed to travel to all away and post-season games with the team at no cost."

Base + Retention Bonus + Royalties + Car Allowance = $757200 guaranteed in 2020, to top out at $857200 guaranteed in 2024.

If he wins 9+, the CCG, and a non-CFP bowl, he tops out at $897,200. If he does so in 2024, it's $997,200. Add in the academic and ticket sales bonuses and Clark is hovering around $1 million his first contract.

We're not paying much more than we were before, but the buy out is astronomical.

Those bonuses are super low. If he were to win a NY6 or get to the CFP he should get about 300K per win. Those games would bring in so much money that I think he needs an agent big time. Clark should be getting about 700k bonus with incentives that would put him over 1.2M total and I don't think he can reach 800k with this can he? I love that his family is allowed to travel to all away games at no cost but I rather have the cold hard cash and heavy incentives. Just feels like we lowballed a man that I thought we would pay about what Drink got.

I'd like to see the contract because that article is confusing. Reads like it was written very fast.

Yeah he basically appears to have repeated the contract line by line rather than figuring out which parts are most important and leading with those.

Good breakdown. He’ll also get $10,000 bonus for the Guarantee game against Wisconsin.

Bottom line is that if he wins the Sun Belt championship with over 10 wins and then wins the bowl game and the players keep their grades up (all of these are standard operating procedure at App of late) he will pocket over 900k. It isn't 4 million a year but it is an extremely good living, especially in Boone. It is the kind of money that is more than enough to make generational wealth if he were to stay for a long time.

A 1/4 of that for 5 years would have me in good shape for the rest of my life, especially if I lived in Boone.

He seemed pretty cheerful at the press conference. You people can’t be pleased.

If Clark is happy our opinions don’t matter. Contracts can always be rewritten.

I think he would have done it for less. He just wants to be here.

Let’s hope he can get the right coaches together to grow the culture and “App Family” team chemistry.

The only way App makes a CFB playoff game is for the playoffs to be expanded. The non-playoff NY6 is our top goal until then. It does look like the bonuses are low but I imagine that if we get there, he will be in position to adjust the contract. Hopefully we get to see.

Not posted on the athletics site yet. The current one, 2018 through 2024 is on there though.
