AAC SUCKS!

Another AAC Team getting hammered! This time by a mediocre ACC team. Not so sure they are any better than the sunbelt conference! I hope Memphis catches an ass whipping too!

They may be better than the Sun Belt but it isn't by the large amount that all their fans seem to think it is. I do think they have more good teams than the Sun Belt does. I really think App can beat any AAC team, Louisiana can probably also beat any of the teams, after that it is a toss up between our mid level and lesser teams and their mid level and lesser teams. In other words, I think Arkansas State can beat their lower teams and play competitively with their mid level teams but may not get the win.

Don't forget, this is the team that gave Memphis their only loss of the season. Yet AAC fans argued that our whole season was invalid because we lost to Georgia Southern, who very nearly beat Minnesota.

I bet Cheat gets quite a few voters putting them over us. They most certainly will be ranked higher than us in the pre season polls.

Trust me I'd rather have the win over the ranking. I was just pointing out how awful the pres season rankings typically are. Nebraska, Syracuse, Stanford were all ranked in the preseason and all three had awful seasons. Nature of the Beast.

UNC will not be ranked and the AAC is a marketing joke.

Hindsight is 20/20. AAC looked better on paper prior to bowl season, but now not so much. Regardless, we got robbed and deserve to be in the Cotton Bowl.

If you can get stAte and Troy back up on their feet they can go on a tear. Our conference has pretty good teams, they're just not household names...

...yet.

The AAC is 3-1 in NY6 bowls but usually falls embarrassingly flat in the other bowl games. But bowl season is a small sample and the larger results and metrics do point to the AAC being better than the SunBelt by a good margin. As was mentioned above, it's because of depth. Multiple teams are ranked in a season, 3 different teams have been sent to NY6 bowls, and 8 different AAC teams have been ranked in the CFP poll since it's creation. Compared to 7 different teams total from the other 4 conferences combined. Like a lot of things in life, it's a little bit of truth and a little bit of marketing spin.

Yeah, I wouldn’t have gone with sucks. We’re basically saying their not that much better than our conference. I don’t want to say we suck a little bit more than they do. I do believe the bowl results are showing that the AAC isn’t the absolute unquestionably best G5 conference. It’s much closer the “comity” thought.

Assume this is trolling but, really?
Zero trolling, I honestly believe when the preseason polls come out Cheat will be ranked higher than us. Not because they are better than us or they deserve it, but because the national media outlets continue to push the "Names" especially in preseason polls. It happens every year, add in the fact that all the experts LOVE Howell, and Mack was one of them for quite a while. The storyline writes itself. It's cool though we know which program is a top 20 program and which is not.

I am enjoying the schadenfreude, but GS lost to Liberty so...

Also, no way a single voter puts Carolina ahead of App in the postseason poll. Hard to see how they get a get a single vote at all. They did turn out to be a pretty good team though, hard as that is for some of our fans to admit.

I'm not really going to pile on Temple for an ugly game against UNC....or on Memphis for a single ugly game against Temple. That said, I do think the AAC is over rated. They've ridden the coat tails of UCF's two really strong seasons, but nobody currently in the AAC (including UCF) is playing at that level. App could absolutely play and potentially beat (nothing's absolute) any AAC team!

The SunBelt had a somewhat disappointing season. GS and Troy both dropped off from last season. Arkansas State also under-performed, although they trended stronger at the end of the season and finished strong in their bowl win and against GS. Georgia State exceeded expectations but not enough to offset the under-performers. ULM was about what they were supposed to be. App and UL are carrying the conference right now.

On one hand, all of their losses were by less than seven points, including 2 in OT. And, every team they lost to went bowling.

On the other hand, Temple is the only team they beat with a winning record.

They are a textbook average team.

I’m still going with sucks because they took our spot tomorrow. They may have had 3 teams ranked all year but after their bowl losses, may only have one. And if penn state rolls them tomorrow may not have any. I admit sunbelt is not great but I’d say AAC rankings all year have been inflated.

And no WAY in HELL the tar holes are ranked at end of year or beginning of next year at 7-6 over a mediocre aac team in the bowl.

The AAC commissioner did a great snake oil sales job to the playoff committee. Considering the money involved in the Cotton Bowl spot, wonder where our SBC commissioner was?
