Agreed...winning the 4th straight Sun Belt Championship and 5th straight bowl while dealing with multiple coach changes qualifies for extra credit...so A+.

Well damn.... you'd think I'd taken a dip in the stink's cess pool and fried my math skills. Thanks for the correction.appbanker wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 9:32 amActually 13-1 means 13 out of 14 games won which gives you 92.86% or rounded to 93%.scatman77 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 9:26 am13-1 means 12 out of 13 games won. Mathematically that's 92.3%. Rounded that's 92% and on a college honors weighting scale it's a 4.7 out of a possible 5.0. Using the 10 point scale anything 90 and above is an "A". I prefer to take that as it is and accept that 13-1 is better than any school in the Carolinas except Clemson and the best record of the G5 schools.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

But, if the grade is on a Bell Curve, we are going to finish tied with Ohio State for the 3rd best winning percentage (behind only Clemson and LSU). Hence, we are going to finish in the top 3% of the FBS Teams. That just might be an A+AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 11:00 amWhich is pretty much how I was looking at it. Re: This Is Ours!
That explains your thought process. My teacher did not grade on a curve in HS. She was old school. If nobody got an A+ then that was fine. You got the grade you earned and not given a curve grade. lolWASU 93 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2020 11:37 pmBut, if the grade is on a Bell Curve, we are going to finish tied with Ohio State for the 3rd best winning percentage (behind only Clemson and LSU). 1. LSU or Clemson 15-0
2. LSU or Clemson 14-1
Tied for 3rd : Appalachian State and The Ohio State 13-1
Everyone Else
We are in the land of the heavy hitters when it comes to Winning Percentage

Re: This Is Ours!
No doubt we are and it is awesome but we are playing a much lower level of competition than those schools are. If you are grading on a curve Clemson and LSU should be getting bonus points for now. We should have a 98 and they should have a 105 or so. yeah but we don't need to make apologies or be "in our place" about that...we have far, far, far x 10 less resources than they do, that levels the field considerably...I don't care what conference etc, you are in, if you beat your peers and then some and go 13-1, that's tough to do! If it is so easy to win against our competition then many more would get to 12+ wins...
