Re: NEZ work today
Seems like really bad timing to raise minimums. Folks are struggling for basic daily needs and the more details that come out suggest the longer it will take to recover as a nation. Roughly 10 million lost their jobs in the past couple of weeks and more to come.
There is no way attendance to sporting events will not be severely impacted this coming year. Donations will be severely impacted as well. This is not an APP problem, this is NCAA wide.
And if there is no NCAAF this coming year, yikes. Even worse.
Very proud of our new facility, but the way things are going, they will end up dropping these prices across the board.

We talked about that on our radio show...will this be a re-set button on out-of-control pricing. Fewer people will be able to do 3, 4, 5 x $50-200 tickets (thinking college and pro games).CharlotteApp05 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 11:54 amSeems like really bad timing to raise minimums. And not just being able to pay for the tickets but want to (especially considering pro sports).
Look at the tv contracts. That is where sports organizations focus is. Combine that with virus exposures etc, people will be much less willing to go to games.

I truly believe NASCAR Priced themselves out of an incredibly successful business. I like what App is doing and I hope they keep the prices reasonable. I don't mind the $1500 for memberships and higher ticket prices for special seating, but we need 20,000 seats under 30 bucks or we will price ourselves out of a great atmosphere. $30 may be too much now. I am sure we are doing research but it is expensive for a family. I would like to see some family packages. They used to have a family grandstand at Charlotte Motor Speedway and sold cheap tickets for general admission. I wish we could put the two end sections on the west side for cheap last minute tickets. Give them to straight "A" students. Something to fill the place when games are not in demand. Nothing better than a full Kidd Brewer Stadium a 5 dollar ticket and 40 dollars worth of Hot Dogs, Popcorn and M&M's. I don't think it would take demand from the people that are currently buying 35 dollar tickets.

You can't lower the single-game ticket prices without devaluing the season tickets.
But I do agree that App (and everyone else) will have to be creative with tickets this coming season, if the season happens.

The outline of a Block A appears to be showing on the outside of the NEZ.

Thanks for the link. I lost it. Does anyone know if the third dorm is supposed to be done by the fall?

Dorm 3 is Phase 2 of construction. It is scheduled to be completed by fall of 2021.

check out the time lapse feature on this camera view (P3 camera, not NEZ)...don't recall seeing this as an option before? it's mesmerizing.

Re: NEZ work today
That time lapse was a lot of fun to watch. I didn't make up to Boone for a game last season due to my three daughters' field hockey schedule -- App State started following my oldest girl's recruiting profile page last week! Last time I was in Boone, Owens was still standing. It is going to be a shock to the eyes next time I get up there - can't wait.APPRIDE wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 5:15 pmcheck out the time lapse feature on this camera view (P3 camera, not NEZ)...don't recall seeing this as an option before? it's mesmerizing.

That's amazing to watch. I just can't believe all the change since the last time I was in Boone!

Re: NEZ work today
With the dorms all bit empty through the semester, it is unfortunate that they can’t raize a couple of them now and start on the new parking areas.

It looks like brickwork is beginning on the east side of the building.

Re: NEZ work today
If there was any doubt that someone F’d up the seating overhang in the NEZ you just have to look at the number and placement of the pillars now underneath....

Good catch. I'm looking at it at night, but appears there's 10 pillars. Not sure if they're permanent or not.

Re: NEZ work today
The steel supports you see underneath the NEZ seating structure at the moment are NOT designed to be permanent, or at least that is what DG has told us. After a few of us on here began asking questions when those were installed 6/8 weeks ago, the question then appeared in one of DG's "Ask the A.D." sessions. He replied by noting that the support columns now in place are temporary placeholders and the permanent ones will be much different. We can hope this is indeed the case.

Re: NEZ work today
I can tell the ones underneath are not permanent and I’m sure the new ones will look good...my point is they are needed and not part of original design. I’m guessing some structural issue manifested itself already and the current supports were “emergency”.
