This is the very large “back porch” open patio of the end zone field house. This is at the same elevation of the concessions level to walk around the stadium. I’m not sure if it will actually attach yet or if it’s in the future plans but man that would cut the foot traffic in half by the scoreboard walkway above the grass area.

Last game I went to we got stuck in a mass of people for about 15 minutes where the west side opens up to the asphalt that goes above the grass area. It was so crowded it actually felt like a safety issue. I put my son on my shoulders so he wouldn’t get trampled.

This is almost certainly telling me that it will be connected, at the very least through a little bridge type walkway.

I've heard them say where they are designing it to be able to become connected. But it won't be when they first open it next year.... $$$

Correct -- the concourse connection is a "next-phase/as fundraising allows" project. The main takeaway is the NEZ facility was designed with future stadium expansion/renovation/connection in mind.

Write those checks. Our fundraising is abysmal. With the size of our alumni base, this money should already be in hand.

Is that on prospective donors or the Yosef Club? Seems like it's time for some networking to be done with schools who have great success in fundraising to find out what they do differently.

This facility is next level. Night games should look amazing. Crowd noise will also be enhanced with the enclosure of that end and moving the hill closer to the field.

Thanks for the pictures. I've tried numerous times today to pull up the cameras and nothing but a black screen.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

The end zone camera isn't working for me. Says not enough power to operate camera and tilt motors.

Thanks for all the pics!

I'd hope that 1M donation will make a dent in our future expansion and renovation efforts one way or another.

I have to say, as a fan of the game, I like having seats in the end zone because you can see the whole play in front of you. However, I don’t know that I would pay those prices compared to my seat on the 50.

Camera has been down for me for a while also. I'll just have to go see the construction in a few weeks, and get some turns in at Beech.

That is for current construction, not future. We don’t have enough funding currently to build out the NEZ to the level /“luxuries” wanted. Further as of the last Yosef tour, it was $2M to replace turf and cover track. That balance was unfunded.

I learned this while at a Panthers game. Ended up with 1st row endzone seats on the deck in Charlotte and noticed that you can see almost what the quarterback sees. Makes the throws behind, in front, over and short of receivers make a lot more sense when you view it from that angle. Made me realize how lazy the commentators on TV really are when they state a guy just "missed" a throw. Generally, they are throwing around arms, heads, bodies, and out of reach of someone reading their throws.

Might make hill seating in Boone more appealing if it's closer to the field.

My PSL seats for the Panthers are in the upper level end zone corner. I always felt like it was like the overhead camera view from Madden. Seeing the plays develop from that angle is one of my favorite things about sitting there.

I don't like the corner view unless the teams are coming toward your endzone. I like the straight look from the end zone, from Row 1 to 10, on the upper deck, because you get the All 22 film view. My opinion of Newton changed drastically after that game. I was a firm believer that he missed too many throws and was simply inaccurate, throwing behind, over, or too far ahead of receivers. That angle showed me what he was actually doing when throwing behind, low, or high to a guy. Usually it was due to a throwing lane he was trying to squeeze a ball in to.

Personally, I've never been a fan of endzone seats. Can't see the line to gain, when the action is opposite field, all of those things I like about seeing it close to my endzone are no longer enjoyable. One thing I do like about endzone seats is seeing field goals. I struggle to tell from my current seats. I usually have to listen for the crowd reaction or the refs signal.

Can't wait to see it completed, and I will be there week 1 to hear how it keeps the sound in better.
