Re: Congrats Louisiana!
The Cajuns were one of the top G5 teams this season. I hope they get some attention from the AP voters early next season and help the Sun Belt's strength of schedule. A rising tide lifts all boats.

Congrats Cajuns. Time to review bowl tie-ins to allow top SBC teams to go head to head with comparable AAC and P5s. We can’t beat them unless we are allowed to play them.

Re: Congrats Louisiana!
The Cajuns have built a very good program under Napier. They were a bit sloppy last night, especially in the first half, but they finished pretty strong. The game was closer than I expected, but I think that's mainly because of drive killing penalties by UL.

Re: Congrats Louisiana!
How could a team not be a little sloppy especially with about a month between games? Belt championship game was December 7 so in between they had maybe some exams, Christmas break, time away, etc. Random bowl games on January 6 are a bit ridiculous. They are a good team and had a great season. Makes us look better.

Re: Congrats Louisiana!
Unfortunately I think with the Rhule to Carolina news, Napier is likely gone to Baylor. Poor Cajuns.
Much better spot to be in than Mississippi State. Living in Waco, coaching a program on the rise in a pretty weak Big12 sounds a whole heck of a lot more appealing than being at the bottom of the SEC West.

If I'm Baylor, I would go after Napier very hard. That is an attractive job right now. He should be able to win 10+ games next year if he gets the job. Baylor has completely put that mess they had behind them.ah59396 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 10:29 amUnfortunately I think with the Rhule to Carolina news, Napier is likely gone to Baylor. Poor Cajuns.

Personally I hope Louisiana can hang onto him. He's got Louisiana rolling (the conference needs that) and we own him.

I'm happy for the Cajuns. They really are a great team. And while this is certainly clear to most everyone here, it's worth saying again: They finished 11-3 and those three losses were Mississippi State and us twice. It feels good to be 2 of the 3 for an 11-3 team.

I'm not sure I feel as cocky as some that we "own" Napier. It's true that he's never beaten us, but he's played us tough every single time. Sooner or later his day will come....if he stays long enough.

Re: Congrats Louisiana!
If a P5 is smart they will come at him hard come November or early December if MSU or Baylor does not get him now. I think his chances against us should be running out here quickly. I hope he only has one more shot at us.
