He was here for two years, does that really make him an App guy? I get it if he is an App grad, or coaches here a significant amount of time, but not sure a stopover in Boone makes anyone an App guy. That being said, hope he does a great job.

I don’t consider Drink, Riley, Harbison, Roof, Link, Stewart, or Stepp App guys.

I do consider Satterfield, DJ Smith, Nic Cardwell, Ivey, Jones, Clark App guys.

App is a special place. Some people knew it by attending, or playing here.
Some people learned it after arriving here and embracing the culture and community.
Some may leave for better opportunities, but will always maintain the respect and appreciation for the university. Some people may leave in hopes of coming back some day in a higher capacity. Those people are always mountaineers.
Some people use it as a stepping stone for their careers with little to no buy in to the culture or surrounding areas. Those people are professionals and people who coached at App but they are not App people
