Does anyone know what the stadium will look like come fall as far as construction? Will the new turf be installed by the fall? The Endzone seating area completed?

Yes to both. The turf is being installed after the May 2 Luke Combs concert and the endzone seats should be ready as well, even if the rest of the facility isn't.

Cool. Thanks for the info. Wonder what the turf design will look like. Hope they keep it classic. Block A at midfield. App State or APPALACHIAN or MOUNTAINEERS in endzone

When we redo the turf this summer, should we flip the Block A for TV purposes?

Luke Combs concert is cancelled. One would think they could install earlier than expected.

When Gillin spoke to the media last week, he suggested that the turf replacement/south end zone regrade might need to be delayed. He didn’t say it specifically, but that was the vibe I got.

I got the same feeling. I think turf replacement will be up-in-the-air until the facilities funding/premium seating sales/alumni giving/season ticket sales/COVID-19 issues come into far better focus. It can't help that as of today, nationwide unemployment numbers surpass those of the Great Depression. I suspect the odds are substantially against new turf for the 2020 season--IF we have a fall 2020 sports season at all.

if contracts have been signed I'd venture the completion dates won't change, which is unfortunate as I'd rather they play on old turf than see staffing cuts or salary reductions.

Hate to hear it but it’s the right call in the current situation. To be honest, I don’t see the south end zone regrade really needed until the 2021 season with Elon and Marshall? coming to town for OOC. I feel those may draw some large crowds that will really benefit from the expanded concourse. And of course UNC in 2022. Or if we have some nice fall Saturday's for a change

Did Elon find a fan I didn't know about?

Our last few games against Elon were very well attended but that was when we were competing for a conference championship. It's possible they will bring a good number of fans but I think our recent success might paint this more as a body-bag game for them. As far as FCS opponents are concerned, they'll probably represent better than most though in terms of attendance.

Hah touché

Also something I just thought about, if the south end zone re-grade and new turf is delayed, does that mean the track removal won’t be happening this spring? It was my understanding the track removal and new turf install we’re going hand in hand after the Combs concert.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought DG said in the virtual Yosef club tour that he'd like to still get it done since it's can be done more cheaply due to the current environment now. I'm not sure if the track removal coincides with that though.
