Former 2017 QB Stephon Brown who was dismissed from the team in November 2018 by Scott Satterfield went to Indy CC (school that's featured on Last Chance U on Netflix) and became the #1 Juco Dual Threat QB recruit at 6'6, 225 pounds. He had several D1 offers and committed to TCU on February 3rd.

I hope he learned his lesson (whatever that was because I never did get the specifics of why he was released) and makes the most of his opportunity at TCU.

From what it sounded like it was falling behind in classes and missing mandatory meetings, but this information was not from a 100% reliable source. I agree, glad he was able to move on and work hard for another opportunity. Hate we could not keep him around, but I have confidence in David Baldwin-Griffin or Navy Shuler to step up once the Zac Thomas era comes to an end.

Yep, wish nothing but the best for Stephon...we seem to be in a good place depth-wise at QB..

Satterfield hasn't had to dismiss many student-athletes during his time as coach; I'll take that as an indictment on the severity and continuity of whatever issues were occurring.

I only saw him play one game ,the Shrine Bowl.He looked out to be of his league.The ECU QB recruit however looked like Roman Gabriel.

Me, too! Once against Norm Snead's WFU Deacs at Bowman Gray Stadium in W-S and once against Snead as the Rams played the Redskins at RFK Stadium in D.C. They split...one "W" each.

He was NFL MVP , All Pro and I believe the finest talent this state has produced.

Another pro player from the Wilmington area. That area has turned out some great ones. Roman Gabriel, Sonny Jergenson and of course, Johnny U, were my favorites.

Roman now lives in Little River S.C. near North Myrtle Beach. I’ve seen him many times at the Lifequest Fitness facility there. He’s aged quite a bit, has some Parkinson’s but is enjoyable to talk to. Told me he made more $ performing in the movie Undefeated starring John Wayne (including residuals) than he made in total playing in the NFL

Johnny U. is my wife's all-time favorite as well - always says about a side-line catch - "Not as good as Johnny U and Raymond Berry did it"
