Can anyone more informed than me have a rough guess at the depth chart? It's fun to check those over in the offseason to pass the time. Thanks!!

Love me some George Blackstock. Always seems to make huge plays!

‘10 that’s pretty good. I think Marcus Williams JR will start at RB and it will be interesting to see if C. Willis gets the starting job back at DE or will Diarassouba keep it and Willis be rotating in...

It is difficult to gauge the 1st team for most of the spots as they are moving guys around to see what works. Also, People’s is out for Spring Ball so I really doubt he is the starter this year.
Also, Huff and Ross are playing the same position so they can’t both start.

It's hard to guess at the RB position. Even with the loss of Evans, we have a lot of returning talent. I've been a fan of Williams for a couple of years and believe he was under utilized. That said, Peoples probably has the higher up side potential. At the beginning of the year, I would expect to see Williams/Harrington to be the #1 and #2 but I think Peoples gets touches also. By mid season, I wouldn't be surprised if Peoples emerges as the new stud.
I will be interested to see if we can work some young WRs into the rotations to build some experience going into 2021. Same at QB.

Agreed. We have to get some of those younger guys in for WR and QB. Hopefully Peoples is though his injuries and can really shine for us with our other folks this year to be a big leader for the '21 season.

Do you think that Brendan Harrington has a legitimate shot at a starting OLB spot? He seemed to get some time on the field in a special teams role last year.

What about Roof?

Yes, Harrington will be very much in the running with Brown. Wouldn't be surprised to see both get starts.
I imagine Roof will be in the mix at ILB, as will Bird, Doublin and maybe one or two more. But if you're just projecting first string, the two guys who split the spot opposite Fehr last year are probably the best bet until proven otherwise.

Brown and Harrington play the same position, field side OLB. Both can’t start.

I'm saying I think both will play, and it wouldn't surprise me if both get starts over the course of the season. Much like Jackson and Cobb last year.

Fair enough. I would expect a wide variety of personnel packages among the LB group. The starter may be dictated by the package.

Why would you assume that he isn’t? He did play at a P5.

So? Are we to assume Indiana’s players are better than ours? Dabo Swinney’s sons play at a P5 too, doesn’t mean they are any good. I’ll stick with Cobb and Jackson inside.

You didn’t answer my question. What makes you assume that he isn’t good?
Roof is a sound football player that can get the job done. And yes, in theory, or at least if you go by ratings, which I don’t, he is better. Not sure how you qualify, “good”. We need a bunch of good players for depth. Will Roof start? Dont know. Is he good enough to start? Most definitely.
And to answer your other question, there are guys that don’t start on P5 teams, even bad ones, that could start for us. Yes Dabos kid is on the team. He sees the field. What’s your point?

For what it’s worth App is a solid enough program to be a P5. I’m not saying that we could win a P5 conference or even be in the upper echelon, nor would we be a doormat. I think many would agree with this assessment. That being said we easily have lots of players who could either start or play significant minutes for several P5’s. By the same token there are a good bit of guys on P5 rosters who wouldn’t see the field for us. As for Roof let’s hope he can push for time and is legit App material.
