I’ve seen a number of reports over the past few years that put us indoors when the weather was “bad”, rain, snow, cold etc. Your welcome to think what you think and I’ll think what I think.goapps93 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 12:50 pmI doubt this is the first time we've ever practiced in the weather since that facility was built. 11-2 and 13-1 over the last 2 seasons, just imagine how good we could have been if not for being “a little too soft”. Sustained success like we have had is just not that common. Enjoy it.

Re: Spring Practice
Understand your point, but practicing outdoors in inclement weather has an adverse effect in the efficiency of practice and increases the risk of injury. When you have an alternative option, it makes sense to capitalize on it.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 1:05 pmI’ve seen a number of reports over the past few years that put us indoors when the weather was “bad”, rain, snow, cold etc. Your welcome to think what you think and I’ll think what I think.goapps93 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 12:50 pmI doubt this is the first time we've ever practiced in the weather since that facility was built. Re: Spring Practice
We will play at most one game per season inside. If you want to perform in the elements you better practice in the elements. Thats not to say there aren’t times when the indoor facility doesn’t make sense.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 2:39 pmUnderstand your point, but practicing outdoors in inclement weather has an adverse effect in the efficiency of practice and increases the risk of injury. Re: Spring Practice
Practicing in snow and bad weather is kinda what football is all about. I'm glad to see them outdoors too. Especially in the snow. Indoors for lightning but anything else, get out there in it.

Re: Spring Practice
The great thing about the indoor facility is that it can be utilized by other sports as well. So far, spring ball has involved beautiful warm days, rain and snow and I don't think they have been indoors even once.

GaSo played 2-3 games in serious rain before Halloween game. I heard a lot of folks say weather hurt us that night. My wife said we looked soft vs them that night. It was only loss of season. I am not saying that was only factor but take it for what it is worth.

Re: Spring Practice
The indoor facility is needed to “keep up with the Jones” from a recruiting perspective. Most importantly it is needed to prepare for the opponent on a week when weather affects preparations.

Re: Spring Practice
I get all that but my point all along has been we better prepare for the weather and the opponent. Hot, cold, wet, snow, wind, chances are we will be dealing with theses things in a game. If we get even one chance to practice in these situations we should take advantage of the experience. We haven’t really had too many cold games recently but I think we should have cold weather gear. Specialty socks gloves and undergarments. Maybe even a cold weather uniform. I’m not just talking about developing the metal tuff ness to play thru the elements, I’m talking about being prepared.

Re: Spring Practice
No, it was a typo. I've been reading about the upcoming season so I had September on my mind (I guess). Open practice is 3/21.

Re: Spring Practice
Let me add a clarifying comment to my earlier point. In no way, shape or form am I suggesting we don't need our indoor practice facility. I am a strong advocate of that facility. However, just like any other asset it must be used appropriately to improve and not as a crutch to make us weaker. Like a calculator or any other piece of technology, you want it to improve your abilities not make you incapable of using your brain.AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 8:00 pmGaSo played 2-3 games in serious rain before Halloween game.
