Think your memory is a little off. Duke went 18-13 in K's first year back. They won 30 a couple years later with a reloaded roster.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2020 8:08 amA bit arrogant, but OK. We make our money with coaching and talent evaluation that is based on potential. Most of our higher graded recruits don’t make it through 4 years. If we get a situation with a bad hire, then it could set us back years. See our inbred friends to the south. I don’t think it would happen with DG here, but it is possible. Look at Duke. Coach K was forced to sit out one year for a back issue and Pete Gaudet took a loaded team, and ran it into the ground. Coach K came back the next year and won 30 games with a less talented team than the year before.

Re: This stinks...
As for App, we should be fine at DE. Four returning seniors with loads of experience and production. If anything we need to free up some snaps for younger guys.
Plenty of talent at safety and ILB too. Replacing ADG is a concern but I'm confident in Brown and Harrington.
Interesting comment earlier about Roof playing a lot of guys in the front 7, as Jones made a comment to the contrary, at least for some guys. Roof played his veteran reserves but the younger guys got precious little action, at least the DL.

Re: This stinks...
We have seven guys at ILB that could all have a case to be starters. Jolly and SJC sat out a good chunk of camp that allowed Tucker and Jones to get some well needed reps against the ones and based on information available, both looked good. We have some youngins up front but I feel good about them being ready when their time comes. Nunn is a top notch coach and will certainly provide dividends.
