I've been torn on Sam Howell because I hate Carolina, yet I went to the same High School he did and I've met his dad a few times and I liked him. That guy has some serious hype to live up to (like every single UNC player before him). If he's not the first overall draft pick in 2-3 years he's a bust.

That’s a premium article, we can’t see it.

For some reason when I pull up on my ESPN app on my phone I can see ESPN+ articles (only have plus during football season normally).

I can't copy from my phone though to paste anything here. They had non-P5 as the 5th tier. Seemed to be 5 QBs per tier.

Actually, most ESPN stuff is not worth paying. I see some articles that I'm sure are pretty good but what is super different in those QB ratings from the rest online? Group think is a huge issue in the media right now so there is not much diversity of opinion on players out there.

Also keep in mind the publicity from pay stuff is not nearly as impactful as the things that are free. Only a fraction of their readers actually pay for Insider so they don't see it.

I just pay for ESPN+ year around since I live just over 3+ hours from Boone. That way I never miss a football or basketball game. It also helps if you have interest in a lot of other non-traditional sports (lower tier soccer, MMA, and others). Entire library of 30 for 30 is also there so the Jordan thing (although I haven't watched it) is On Demand as well. This allows access to all Insider articles that I wouldn't pay an extra dime for, because, as you said, it's not all that different from the rest of them out there. However, ESPN makes it easy since it's all on one platform for me so I enjoy being able to read them, especially right now when sports are so hard to come by. I consume sports more than any other option of shows or movies, so for me it's absolutely worth it.

I stopped reading after I saw Sam Howell in the ELITE category.

I completely understand that. If I was in to that other stuff I would consider. Someone could have the money but choose to spend elsewhere.

That QB tier article would be good to make free because you want every fan of those schools to maybe see that article and decide hey I want to see the premium content as well. I just doubt any QB mentioned in their 3 tiers aren't mentioned in Lindys, Athlon, Phil Steele, Sporting News, and major draft websites as top QBs to watch. lol

I think that is a projection. It is why many have UNC in the top 20 of their preseason rankings because they believe UNC will be really good. I felt more confident we could beat UNC last year than I do in 2020 but I still think we could be better. I just think UNC will be so much better and worst case should go 9-3 but could also go 11-1. Auburn is about the only team I don't see them beating. I think UCF will be tough but they should win. Then their ACC schedule is pretty weak. They don't play Clemson, Louisville, or Wake Forest in 2020. They also replace us and South Carolina with JMU and UCF.

No problem with Sam Howell's place; I thought he was a pretty damn good QB last year, especially as a freshman and expect he'll be much better this year. I was, however, disappointed the writer saw the need to separate ZT into a sub-group, of Group of 5 since he is easily a better QB than some of the "Power 5" QBs listed supposedly higher based on the grouping.

I know my last post reads as a knock on Howell; it's not meant to be. He had a really good freshman year but I didn't watch him and come away feeling like I just watched an ELITE QB. Maybe I'm wrong.

100% agree. He's young and made plenty of mistakes last year. However, he has the tools and I think that's what they are going on. I've got no problem with that. Seems like a good kid from what I've seen and read, he just chose the wrong team is all....haha
