Re: Turf Replacement Pics
Well, with all the change on campus in the past 20 years, all the money (debt) being thrown around, and with the current trajectory of our football program I would have said pre-pandemic that it would not be too absurd to think we might have a new off campus stadium 20 years from now. Not that I am in favor of such a move.

Re: Turf Replacement Pics
How much of the color differences could be due to the different mediums where color is applied? Metal vs field turf fiber vs vinyl and then as was mentioned earlier the surrounding colors also playing a part at least in the brain.
If one put a colorimeter on the signs and fields would the values be closer than our eyes perceive them?

If the same frequency is coming off the different surfaces I think the brain may still different colors or hues, kinda like the same note from different musical instruments sound different-timbre. I think that is more neuroscience than physics. It would make for an interesting bit of research that I am sure has been done by someone somewhere for some reason that has been published in some science magazine. Yes a good reason to visit KBS.AppinVA wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 6:38 pmScience experiment. Re: Turf Replacement Pics
I don't disagree, but when you have to do things in stages over the years ideas and renderings get changed. What we see today was not what Charlie Cobb had planned years ago. KBS today looks just like what it is.... pieced together.NashvilleNeer wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 2:09 pmi get that, but none of it really matches or plays well with the other./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 11:10 amUnfortunately from a financial standpoint we are forced to piece things together as the money becomes available.NashvilleNeer wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 10:53 amthe east stands need to be replaced though. it's a bit high schoolish, tbh. that's really all i care about first. Agree, she’s a beauty. Just realized there’s 4 pictures from different angles when you open the link in Instagram. Well done Nelson aerials.

Re: Turf Replacement Pics
In one of the other "NelsonAerials" photos looking straight on at the new North Endzone project it is obvious that the building does not align centered on the playing surface. Is that in preparation for future remodeling of the home side seating and moving it closer to the field? Just wondering. Still the most beautiful venue for college football in the state!!!Appstate88 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 12:40 pmAgree, she’s a beauty. Re: Turf Replacement Pics
I figure we still need to enter the stadium and need a walkway to get to the west side stands. I think the NEZ stands/seats are in alignment with the field and the building slightly asymmetrical to accommodate a walkway.AppYosef! wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 2:02 pmIn one of the other "NelsonAerials" photos looking straight on at the new North Endzone project it is obvious that the building does not align centered on the playing surface.
