NEZ will Not Be Ready

Dear App Family,

We are excited for the 2020 football season to kick off in a couple of weeks. As we remain hopeful that fans will be able to attend football games, we are providing an update on the construction of the North End Zone project.

We have been notified that the North End Zone area will not be completed before the September 12th game vs. Charlotte. While ticket allocation will be based on our capacity limits, the NEZ ticket holders will be allocated with other season tickets in the regular bowl until completion of the North End Zone project.

We will continue to communicate with you all as we gather more information. You can also visit appstatesports.com for updates as well.

I’m sure that many factors contributed to the delays, including COVID (people taking sick days, contractors being unable to work, etc). This really was to be expected, honestly. I’m guessing sometime in early-to-mid October before it is ready for guests, based on what we see of the outside and how long the HVAC has been on the roof. Could be longer, I haven’t been in the building.

I figured this would be the case looking at the progress. I would think we would have liquidated damages set for prior to the original first game date. Hopefully it is a significant amount.

Well There lies my extra donation for the year. NEZ tickets. I won’t be attending any games this year.

When will the Jerry Moore Plaza and statue be completed? I forgot about it. Was that already done?
