Is the Yosef Club Room going to be in the new North Endzone?

Unread post by ASUfan6971 » Fri Jun 12, 2020 7:58 am

It seems like when the project was started, we were told the Yosef Club would have the top floor. Yosef donors should be treated better. I guess the club has literally gone "down hill" to the cafeteria.

Where did you hear/read that it's going to continue to be in the cafeteria?

I remember when the west side athletic center was being built it was going to be the home for the new Yosef Club room. Our size outgrew that space before it was ever finished. I agree that the Quinn center and cafeteria don’t really add value for me.

I don't mind the cafeteria due to its central location with somewhat decent space. I do however feel it should be moved as advertised to the NEZ building. Hopefully regardless of it's location, we will be able to physically be present to enjoy it.

I'm curious, did you buy into the NEZ Project? The reason I ask is for those who did buy into, it costs a lot of money and to have others just get to use it without paying for it IMO would not be right. I realize that all Yosef club members should get some additional benefits, but I'm not sure about what you are stating as the tickets in this location are a lot higher then normal tickets.

I do think have an occasional event or something in there for Yosef members would be great so everyone can see what its all about and hopefully it sells more tickets into it.

Also, yes i'm a Yosef member and yes I did buy into the NEZ project just be be transparent.

Pretty sure there has been communication that it will be in the cafeteria again this year.

It appears the confusion around YC came from some early site renderings which showed the words "Yosef Club" on the facade of the NEZ. My understanding is there was never a plan to have dedicated YC space in the NEZ...which is unfortunate.

I would like to see It would App host at least 1-2 YC events/year at NEZ. Great selling point for new/existing members.

It has been said the Yosef Club hospitality will be in the Dining Hall again this year. After that, they said they will re-evaluate.

I assume Athletics will use this season to figure out the logistics of kicking non-NEZ Yosef Club members out of the NEZ space prior to kickoff.

That's the only reason I can think they wouldn't have Yosef Club hospitality there starting immediately (unless capacity or social distancing is an issue).

I would think those ticket holders would be Yosef members and at a pretty high giving level.

Not necessarily. They called me numerous times and I don't donate at the high giving level. In fact they said it didn't matter.

I am a YC Member. I’ve not been in the YC room in 20 years. When they relax the rules on torping a beer I might visit. 😜

Essentially you could have someone that donates $20k, and because they decided against endzone seats for the view, they will have to walk away from their stadium lot spot to go to the cafeteria for the hospitality room. Hopefully this is just a one year thing for them to figure out logistics

We got NEZ seats. There is currently no Yosef donation required, but it's a $1,000 deposit per seat, plus $1,000 per year, per seat for the tickets every year (Our two seats are 4k this year, 2k every year after that). You can lock in that price for 3, 5, or 7 years and that will protect you from any price increases OR minimum Yosef requirements that might be added in the future. It's my understanding that they expect a minimum $1,000 YC annual donation to be required at some point in the future, but they need to sell these seats now so they aren't currently imposing that. That's why we locked in for 7 years. We actually lowered our annual YC donation since we're spending so much on tickets. Just enough to keep decent priority and parking.

IMO they would finish selling out the NEZ (which they're coming close to doing) if they'd make the info more accessible. I think their strategy is to force people to call in, thus putting a "salesman" in their ear after the phone call. You can google yosef club and ticket prices etc and land on some info graphic from 2013 as the first result. I know things are tight but I consistently get an "FCS" vibe from dealing with the ticket office and Yosef. It's improved, but I know we can do better.
