Jennings to take over CMPD

Hall of Famer Johnny Jennings will take over as Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Chief next week. I wish him the best.

Is he an App grad? If so, what era did he play?

He is a HOF Linebacker for App...played 87-90.

Thanks. Hope he does well and stays there a long time. Lordy knows they have had a hard time finding good ones and keeping them through the years Politics suck..

Completely agree. I am hopeful that he can get a handle on the CMPD. I definitely think new leadership is needed.

Jennings has been 28 years, he may stay only 3-4 more years.
