With all these closures in high school, I see this as a possible win down the road...maybe...APP offers scholly’s early and later, the big schools flip them after watching their senior seasons and reports during football camps. I think the early commitments we have, might not get those late offers from the big boys and that could help us. Thoughts? Oh…btw… I’m not a doom and gloomer...I want football!

Your math above is correct, I assume, but you are using the wrong numbers.

Not all of us have been exposed to SARS-CoV-2 so your math needs to not be 330 million but the number that have been exposed.

I would suggest you also add in those will have life long problems with their lungs and there have been some strokes reported in younger ages. Those may not be huge numbers and they are still living but both conditions can be life changing in themselves and in a severe manner at that.

For those who want to take the red pill regarding COVID-19 here is some data you might want to consider. According to the Table 1 in the link below from the CDC as of July 15, 2020 here is the breakdown of deaths "related" to COVID on a weekly basis. The peak in weekly deaths in the age group of 0-24 (the age group that would include college athletes) was 27 the week of 4/11/2020. That number has gone down almost every week since. For example, the weekly total for 6/13/2020 was 6; for 6/20/2020 is was 5; for 6/27/2020 it was 6; for 7/4/2020 it was 1, for 7/11/2020 it was 0. Do you see a trend? At the time death rates for the affected athletic group is decreasing, the PTBs (Powers To Be) are increasing the protection of said group by shutting down their interaction in sports. Further, Table 3 in the same document says only "6% of ALL deaths from COVID-19 was where COVID was the ONLY cause". And, "on average there were 2.6 ADDITIONAL conditions and causes" combined with COVID that caused mortality. In other words, healthy non morbid people RARELY die from COVID-19. Again, I think college athletes by and large are not suffering from an existing morbidity except for possibly large athletes who may be obese, have high blood please, or are diabetic or another morbidity. I don't think that describes anyone on the fencing, tennis, wrestling, basketball, and cross country team, and no DB's, CB's, QBs, RBs, and receivers on the football teams. From the very beginning this virus was expected to have high morbidity (sickness) rate and low mortality (deaths) rates, and that is exactly the way it has panned out. To say or intimate otherwise flies in the face of the collected epidemiology data. For those of you who want to take the blue pill, these facts mean nothing. For those who want a motive for a narrative that is pushed that goes clearly against science, good luck with that. I quit trying to determine motive in the actions of others a long time ago. If you want to learn more and don,t want to plow through arcane stats, Tony Robbins has just put out a YouTube video where he interviews numerous scientists on this topic, some Nobel Prize winners.
