JMU will not be coming to town as possible opponent....Potential UNC Football Opponent James Madison Cancels Fall Football Season
You think it was simply for health concerns or were they having problems finding games - or both?
Officially they will use health reasons but more than likely $ was the deciding factor.

I tested positive three weeks ago and have just been released from quarantine. Wife is still quarantined till 8-16. I felt lousy, but I didn’t have many of the classic symptoms. I had fever, headache, dizziness and stomach upset. Was shocked I got it because I work from home and wear a mask when I did go out. Just glad I wasn’t around any of my older friends or my grandkids.
Glad you are back amongst us. Just curious , were you prescribed anything or just told to ride it out?
2 of my fraternity brothers ages 67 and 66 both got it. One was sick for better that 3 weeks fever and no appetite. lost 16 pounds. he has COPd and Dr. said the fact that he uses an inhaler probably save him. Second one sick for 3 weeks now with fever of 101-103 extremely tired but lucky no breathing problems. lost weight too Took a test cam back negative BUT test said if symptom persist you might consider the negative COVID test false and retake it.............
The inhaler as therapy is getting traction among some docs so that makes sense, I think the trade name is Symbicort , something along those lines .I have heard similar stories about test results .
Symbicort is a steroid.
I got shredded on Symbicort! ;)

Big Sky calling off the season, NDSU is the big team.
Just read this on Yahoo Sports.
NDSU is in the Missouri Valley Conference. Big Sky has Montana, Montana State, Northern Arizona, Idaho, etc.

With the Pioneer League also calling it quits, less than 50 percent of FCS teams are still committed to a fall season, so the FCS Playoffs, per NCAA rules, must be canceled.

I think that lack of playoffs is what pushed JMU to pull the plug.

Symbicort is a steroid with a long acting beta agonist for opening the airways. Just clarifying.

That's interesting because they clearly said it was a G5 team and conference.

Wyoming was to play Big Sky member Weber State Sept. 5th. Why don’t we give them their return game this year and try to slide Wake into that spot in 2022.

Talked to a guy today at work who just recovered. He is the first person I know who contracted the virus. He said he was pretty weak for several days and had to force himself to eat and do some things. Overall though he says the regular flu is much worse. He is 50ish with no real underlying health issues.
5 of my coworkers had it and my wife's uncle and aunt had it.. the coworkers are all young so it was mild symptoms for them, but the relatives were bed ridden for a week.
Probably know a dozen at this point .Middle aged folks. Describe it as “ like a bad cold” or just fatigue. The latter tested because of contact tracing. Either way a two week stay at home .

No, no medications were perscibed. I just am very, very, thankful that I had very minor symptons. Fever never got over 101.

We are gonna get screwed. Nobody within a bus ride wants to play us. ECU makes perfect sense. Do all of the NC ACC schools have national championship aspirations OT something?

All the more reason we should have a playoff. If we are being locked out of a good schedule due to others not wanting to play us then we should not be penalized.

If all we play is SB and G5 schools then we have a weak SOS. With close to 130 FBS schools and around 260 DI schools we can't play everyone round-robin. All the Prig 5 schools have to do is not schedule us and they remove one more school from the Great 5 schools they have to worry about competing with. That sort of restraint of trade should be illegal and the best manner to enforce it would be to have a playoff that includes at least the conference champions. I know this post is a bit off topic but damn our own success hurts the program and that is not right.

Pathetic performance by the Athletic Department. Should have At minimum had a replacement before letting them out of the contract. App had their balls in a vice grip with Boone being an hour and a half up the road and everyone wanting to reduce travel distance This season. App just got played, screwed over and out negotiated by a mediocre ACC team.
Not true at all, but ok. Who's to say Wake didn't give us money for this change? And we need the money right now... While not ideal for fans and players this season, it's a better overall move in the long run.

This is just part 1 of what I was talking about with fans being upset about the scheduling news to come..
Gotta agree with BTK here, Gillin continues to let P5 AD’s roll him. I saw Charlie Cobb with a full throated declaration that they expect cancellation fees down at Georgia State, and Gillin should have done the same thing. And i would bet my house Wake isn’t giving us a dollar for this, it would have been mentioned in App’s press release if they did.
Gillin is doing the exact opposite of letting the P5 ADs troll him. Wake wanted to cancel the game altogether -- it was Gillin that got them to agree to two more game PLUS give us money for moving this one.
Can you link me to something showing we are receiving payment for this years game being moved? Not arguing with you i just haven’t seen it yet.

Surely you aren't suggestion that Charlie Cobb's record of scheduling ranks him higher than Gillin. I trust in Doug.
That was not what i was saying. I was just glad to see Charlie put out a statement saying if you were trying to move your game with GAST this year then you should expect to pay the cancellation fee. I’m all in on Doug, i just don’t wanna see us get pushed around when we really are hurting for the money. I can fully acknowledge we’ll never be negotiating with those schools from a position of strength either.
