Back to the topic, might have missed it but UNCC has scheduled UNC and Duke and are in conversations with ECU. Have we even issued any statements about replacements for our out of conference games?
Only confirmation so far is Wake dodged us for ODU, but that obviously may change now.
DG has been on the phones all day, every day trying to find games. Problem they are having is needing to move some Sun Belt games -- which has seemed nearly impossible. Rest assured, DG is doing all he can to make it happen, but don't be surprised with two disappointing matchups.

The replacement game I started this thread about will not take place....another victim of Gov. Cooper
Another victim of who???? So the national strategy is Coopers fault? come on man......
What “national strategy “?
Exactly!
So our Federal Government has given the States the freedom to chose how to operate and that’s the problem? Isn’t that how a republic is suppose to operate? Or are you more of a central government control guy?
To lazy to type my own thoughts but from Wikipedia:
"In the context of US constitutional law, the definition of republic refers specifically to a form of government in which elected individuals represent the citizen body and exercise power according to the rule of law under a constitution, including separation of powers with an elected head of state, referred to as a constitutional republic or representative democracy."
This has nothing to do with a strong central government or weak central government. It has more to do with electing people to represent the people.
A republic could be a unicameral legislative body with strong control of subordinate bodies.

At this point, if we get to play and get at least 2 non conference games plus conference games, I sure as heck won’t be disappointed.
GO APPS!!

The US constitution gives a very limited amount of power to the federal government. We have simply over time allowed the federal government to take our money and our rights. Being able to have things like football games would fall under the right to assemble or associate. Under the US constitution the federal government cannot infringe on our right to assemble. Any restrictions on assembly would have to come from the state government.

You could make an argument that if the two schools were in different states that the Commerce Clause would be valid and that would get the federal government involved.

Well, one more time, looks like we have scheduled one replacement game. Hope the news holds up, same opponent that started the thread in a different location and date. If it works out, under the circumstances I’m fine with this one.

To add to the rampant speculation of the day I’ll throw this one on here. When you go to the football page on app state sports this pops up at the next game but it says TBD on the schedule page. My best speculation is
A. It’s leftover somewhere in the system and hasn’t been updated but this doesn’t make sense because app wasn’t playing wake on September 5th.
B. It’s still hidden on the schedule Page but the next game popup pulls from the same information and was accidentally unhidden on the football home page.
Take it as you will but hopefully we will have an ooc game on the books at some point.

Would be great to see if Bristol Motor Speedway would set up for an App vs. Tennessee or App Vs. VTech at the speedway. If ETSU or other FCS program is playing.....one of them the next two weekends at the speedway. Fans could social distance and seat a lot of people.
1:46 from University Tennessee
1:30 from APPSTATE
0:45 from ETSU
2:00 from Virginia Tech
2:00 from University of Kentucky
2:00 from Wake Forest (Wake needs to show up and play)
Many more within 3 1/2 Hrs including Duke

Not sure about Tenn., but Va Tech at Bristol would not work. I believe that ACC scheduling requires that the game be played in Virginia.

I believe you are correct about the ACC requiring in-state play for OOC games. At this point it doesn't matter, because VA Tech has already booked Liberty. The SEC is not playing any OOC games, so Tennessee isn't going to happen either. These are tough times, and everything that is booked today could be cancelled tomorrow. Good luck to all of us.

Only confirmation so far is Wake dodged us for ODU, but that obviously may change now.

absolutely atrocious that the SBC is not doing everything they can to accommodate an App P5 matchup. Poor leadership.

SBC is doing what they can. But moving one game can mean needing to move 10+ games. It's not as simple as "oh, they want to play a OOC game then? Let's just move this game."
