The 2020 ASU vs. Wake Forest game is being postponed to another year.

I hate that my hunch was correct...really sucks for our great group of seniors this year.

Glad to see we got future games scheduled. This game really needs to be a yearly thing. We are too close and there is too much money to be made for these schools not to play each other.

The games cancelled are ODU, Villanova, and us. ODU was a road game, so by ACC rules it isn't allowed this year. I don't know if Villanova had a conference rule or anything else that prevented them from playing the game, but our game with Wake has been postponed.

The link shows them with 10 ACC games, meaning they can schedule another team as long as it's played in North Carolina. Maybe they decided not to play another game for safety reasons. Maybe they decided to find an easier opponent so they could get an easy win since attendance would be limited.

Not saying I'm mad about it, I can see some validity in the statement that it would be best if the next 3 games we play can be in packed stadium environment.

Hell, maybe it was our suggestion. But for some reason, now I want to beat them even more.

Everything considered, this was the correct decision. This game deserves to be played when all the players are safe and able to play and when all fans are safe and able to attend. While we're at it, let's do what's probably the inevitable and postpone this season until next spring followed by the 2021 season in the fall. This schedule allows football to be played as it should be...in an environment where players and fans are safe and can enjoy the excitement and atmosphere of App Football as we know it.

It makes sense for a few different reasons, I’m disappointed though.

Really doubting any ACC team tries to play us this year.

One of the tough things about being a leader is sometimes you have to make decisions that are in the organization’s overall best interests even if they seem bad for some individuals (i.e., our seniors).

Of course, I doubt whether DG had the option at all to play the game this year. But either way, while it stinks for this year’s team, getting to make the game up when our fans can attend AND getting another home and home agreement is a big win out of a bad situation.

It doesn't work. First any player eligible for the draft who even has a remote shot at playing in the NFL has no business participating in the spring league. Then add in the fact of playing 24ish games in a calendar year is completely nuts. This is a player safety issue, playing a full season, having a couple months off then back to training for another full season in the less than 6 months. I really hope it doesn't come to fruition because I feel like we will back and say it did more harm than good.

I personally think this Is a dumb call from Wake Forest. There is 0 reason we cant play this year AND schedule them in the future. There is no correlation between the two.

At this point I wish we'd just play the 8 game conference schedule, hopefully win the sun belt title and win a bowl game. My fear is despite having (what I believe) the most talented roster weve ever had...they wont get a chance to show it against the big boys and that mixed with games with no fans will keep us from reaching our potential.

No disrespect to local FCS teams...but playing 2 FCS teams sounds like a horrible idea. Could really lull the team to sleep before the tough conference slate.

Yeah this is also my sentiment towards this whole thing. Whether or not we play this fall or in the spring, this years team (and senior class) won’t be getting their shot against the big boys nor have a shot at the NY6 and that really stings.
We will not get noticed from just beating teams in the sunbelt. I just hate it for those guys, to have those 4 Incredibly successful years only to have a half assed season (or no season at all)

The game this year was the back half of a H&H. App isn't going to come to WS this year AND come back another year without getting another return game, or at least Wake paying us for a buy game.

The cancellation was big enough news that it made NPR this morning, well the local WFDD part of the morning news.
