About what I expected. Unfortunately without any P5 teams we won’t be moving up. Good to see ULLLLLLLL on there as well.

Disappointing and actually surprising to me. Thought we'd be right around the edge of the top 25. Army finished 2018 ranked 19/20 and started last year with over 90 points in each poll; figured we'd at least get that level of respect considering we've been much more consistently good than they have.

Oh well, maybe the media will remember us.

Read further. We were also listed as one of five teams snubbed in this poll. Ranked way too low according to this. I agree.

first year head coach, we lost 5 all conference defenders and our running back. I think 30 is about right considering how strong our offense should be this year.

We'll have to run the table to crack the top 25, and that might not even be enough.

Agreed. I thought maybe we would be 28-32 range but not far below. With a coaching change and losing some key defenders it makes sense.

I could see us staying the same or dropping some early if we don't win by huge margins. We must look like a top 25 team to move up. I would suspect we must go undefeated to even hit 24 or 25 range and might take until November or late October to even happen.

It feels good to see but Tennessee and Arizona State were the only two teams who I think have a really good case. The reason we are in that list is because we finished #18/#19 and return out QB and loaded offense but it is fair to keep us out because of the coaching changes and attrition on defense.

We can move up but now we have to really win big whereas just beating UNC, even by 1, would move us up. We also need ULL to do well so we at least have one win who looks good.

With most of the P5 only playing their own conference, and as a result most of the G5s not having any P5 games, I really wonder how much opportunity will exist for a G5 to rise up into the rankings.

Pretty much have to hope they beat up on each other and we go undefeated. It will be interesting to see if voters go for a 7-0 G5 from SBC or CUSA ahead of a 4-4 or 5-3 P5 who plays a much tougher schedule.

We changed coaches last year too, to one that knows our culture and what we want to be this time, to one that wont be leaving us for life changing money after this season. Losing 5 good defenders may smart some this season and most any season, but it took several games to figure it out on D last season. We surely haven't forgot the tiresome "Fire Roof" threads, have we? The Chinese virus has taken a dump on this season already.

We go through this every year guys - polls are win and move up. If we somehow played the entire schedule and ran the table, we'd be top 20, easily.

I doubt they're really dinging us much for the starters we lost. Everyone graduates players. We return plenty of talent, including 4 OL starters and our QB. And we have a great track record on defense regardless of how many starters we replace in a given year.

Would also be unusual to project a dropoff because we lost a HC who was only there one year.

I think App State just doesn't get the benefit of the doubt that some other teams do yet.

You are right in that we will move up but with our schedule we can't just win by 7-10 every week and move up 2-4 spots no matter what. It depends on how big we win and how P5s beat up on each other. We need to win big and need those ahead of us must lose.

Wear a mask and focus on going 1-0. The rest will sort itself out.

That is key and it is warranted because we have not shown we can sustain top 25 caliber play long term yet and we are in one of the 3 worst FBS conferences, in terms of strength of talent. We must show we can replace NFL players with stars and not see a drop off. It took UCF, Boise, and Cincy some time to develop that. If we can go undefeated, because of weak OOC, this year and then show we can replace Thomas with a good QB then I think we will start to get that benefit of the doubt like the yearly G5 powers seem to.

Make sure to tell all these CFB players that statement. If they all test negative, we will have a season. If these kids keep going to parties and don't act responsible then we will not have a season, regardless of what you and I do. Simple as that.

Polls will be a joke this year if ball is played. Even the good P5’s aren’t playing their tough non-conference games. If we run the table and Wisconsin is just decent we can believe we might have knocked them off. Go unbeaten I’m considering us top 20!

If we go unbeaten, I’m claiming a National Championship. Don’t like it, prove us wrong.

About where I thought on a macro level.

However, given The coaches listed at the bottom, way too low. Not enough respect!!!

Satt, Lunsford, USA, CCU, Neal Brown, Will Healy, ULL

We need to destroy teams this year!

No question. As I said above, we can't just win but we have to win big. We need to beat every SBC team by 14 or more and anyone but ULL by 20 or more. We need to show a big gap between us and the rest. I hope we can.
