Re: Big Ten Done
Players have had little to no voice in these Conference decisions. What changed in the last six days to cancel B1G and PAC 12 football games.

Re: Big Ten Done
The Pac 12 announcement seems to have an even bigger impact than just football.
The announcement on the conference website begins with "The Pac-12 CEO Group voted unanimously to POSTPONE ALL SPORT COMPETITIONS through the end of the 2020 calendar year."
That seems to put a hold on everything including BASKETBALL as well.
I believe the Big 10 announcement was for Fall Sports only and left Basketball to be determined later.

The new studies showing an unknown increased risk in heart health after recovery and other unknown effects are the reasons being mentioned in the media.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2020 3:27 pmPlayers have had little to no voice in these Conference decisions. I'm not sure about the Big 12 - they really feel they are the black sheep of the P5 - they may see this as their chance to gain some standing ---/\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2020 3:47 pmI will bet someone a meal at Woodlands that the Big 12 will be next.

Re: Big Ten Done
I believe they have stated they would wait and see what the Big 10 and Pac 12 decide before making any changes to their plans. If that's true it doesn't bode well for their chances of playing this Fall. Question, at what point do all these conferences and the NCAA get together and begin planning a Spring Football season of some sort? Especially, since it doesn't seem they had any real plans for a Fall Football season./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2020 3:47 pmI will bet someone a meal at Woodlands that the Big 12 will be next.

Re: Big Ten Done
I have been of that belief for over a month. I'm not second guessing the scheduling scrambles and safetyt4pizza wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2020 2:20 pmSo that makes 2 G5 conference and 1 P5 conference (with another announcement due at any time now) that will not play college football this fall. Sadly, I think this will spread like wildfire to the other conferences. Today, I finally believe we will not have a season this fall.
preparations, they had to have a plan. I just couldn't wrap my head around keeping over 200 players and
support staff negative for a whole season. Not to mention any and all opponents. The cost would have
to be enormous with little or no revenue coming in. Now that conferences with 10? times our budget
have determined they can't do it, I am even more sure, and they had a shot at some TV revenue.

January or February might just be perfect timing for the COVID-19 second wave if the first one ever ends.postalapp90 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2020 4:41 pmHas anyone seen what "spring" football is . Yep better; but can you imagine playing in 6 or more inches of Boone snow and sleet on top of it as well as 10 degrees below wind chill? Not raining on your parade, just being realistic. Glass half empty, but still.

Re: Big Ten Done
Maybe my memory is a bit hazy but it worked great for the USFL and AAF and it was so good the XFL did it twice. I take that to mean it was double good.postalapp90 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2020 4:41 pmHas anyone seen what "spring" football is . Re: Big Ten Done
Spring football would likely be conference only at best. I don't see how they could play a full slate and expect to be able to play in the Fall.

My daughter works in Cardiac Intensive Care and has been talking for a while about these side effects. Also, there is believed to be a increased risk of stroke due to impacts on clotting factors. That last one is a concern to me since I'm a factor 5.NewApp wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2020 8:20 pmYep, as well as liver, kidney, and even brain damage.t4pizza wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2020 3:46 pmThe new studies showing an unknown increased risk in heart health after recovery and other unknown effects are the reasons being mentioned in the media.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2020 3:27 pmPlayers have had little to no voice in these Conference decisions. Well guys and gals, from ages 0 to 44 your chances of death fro this virus is exactly the same as death in a car accident. So don’t you think we should all quit driving. Some people are going to die! Let’s just all get space suits and hunker down for a couple of years and see if we can then survive!
