Everyone always puts together a bus league that serves them the best. What's a bus league for App is not a bus league for Marshall.

For better or worse conferences are what they are because of 100+ years of moves, decisions, results, academics programs and more. 5 months of financial hardship isn't going to all of a sudden convince decision makers to have a change of heart. You might be able to light a fire behind minor changes but not large-scale changes.
You may be right, but SBCUSA realignment made too much sense even before the pandemic. The G5s tried to follow the P5 model of maximizing sprawl - whoops, I mean, "footprint" - in the expectation that their TV revenue would grow accordingly. But that hasn't happened. So maybe at some point they reorganize around maximizing ticket sales (which probably wouldn't lose them any TV revenue anyway).

I do think you've seen some ADs go on the record - albeit tentatively - in support of this kind of idea. Just wish it would move faster.

I think it depends on the severity of the hardship. The prospect of one missed season has rumors of well-established P5 schools looking at the possibility of joining other conferences. With the amount of money involved in college football, those long-standing associations will be cast aside like yesterday's newspaper if someone can make more money.
