Re: Stink Game
Does anybody know (assuming the season makes it that far), with either or both of the rescheduled games, if we get to keep the ESPN slots? I especially wonder with the games being moved to Saturday, and all of the P5's in play by that time. At this point, I'm more worried about the revenue than viewership. I might just rethink my complaining, and watch what I wish for when it comes to weeknight games from now on! Lol

And... someone please tell me I’m wrong! But, provided everything goes perfectly between now and the 14th, and everyone is out of quarantine by then... We will have only had one solid week of practice between Campbell (9/26), and A-State (10/22)?! Ugh

I don't know why I thought this would be different but no guests in rooms and no socialization sounds terrible. I feel so bad for every college student right now. I feel bad for all the introverted people who essentially only make friends due to being forced to be around people, and now they're being forced to not be around people. Can't be good for mental health.

Seriously. I couldn’t imagine being a freshman this year. The times we spent on 6th floor Gardner in the foyer after a night of partying was always a highlight or everyone getting together downstairs where Gardner and Coltrane met to watch football on Sundays.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 12:32 pmI don't know why I thought this would be different but no guests in rooms and no socialization sounds terrible. Re: Stink Game
Although I agree with how statement that we all probably did crazy things in college and lacked abiding by the rules, however, we did not attend college in a pandemic environment. I have been up to Boone on several occasions since mid August as my wife and I are both graduates and our daughter is a sophomore. My observations relate to our hanging out on king street, traveling around town and I take a jog around campus rekindling the golden college years. In my opinion, a significant majority of the students are following the rules on social distancing and wearing mask etc. The disappointing observation is that many of the tourist, weekend second home owners and/or locals were not. Just my observations.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 11:44 amEveryone who lives in reality knew this was coming- and will continue to happen! College kids ain’t gonna abide by regulations. My lord look how they (and we) handle/handled stuff in college. I’m a little surprised I made it and I graduated in 1986. Horrible decisions and overall fortune results. I can’t imagine being 18-22 again, away from home and living in COVID world. Anyone who honestly believes that college football will culminate in a playoff and real championship game is delusional. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think we are approaching cold and flu season. In the south we just had our 100 degree high humidity season and this shit didn’t go away. The NFL can’t get it done without issues so I’m not throwing shade on our administration.

Re: Stink Game
Yeah I was thinking about that this morning. 2 weeks off from a game with little practice has me worried, but I have faith in Clark/staff/players that they will be ready to get after it.appstate77 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 8:57 amAfter the layoff we are going to need a two week mini camp to get back to speed.

Re: Stink Game
4 more active announce on team.
Guess we hope we can start back up next Wed and get a week of practice for most. Of course we don't know how many will be affected by this new 4 active and the tracing.

Re: Stink Game
Where exactly are you guys getting information about the number of actual positives and/or players impacted (contact tracing). I've been reading everything I see on the topic but haven't seen that information published. I have limited time so haven't gone on a search though.

Re: Stink Game
Face the inevitable, no conference championship game and maybe the season is over in a month from now.. Health and safety issues will rule over all App sports completing their seasons. App gave it the ol’ college try; however, having students on campus for in person classes was not the best decision but hopefully students will be able to complete the semester. Too many folks in a college town during a pandemic.

The Preseason predictions of no football were wrong too. Things are getting better. We will play.

Re: Stink Game
Yes it absolutely is. It is affecting at least 2 other women’s programs also. Are we connecting the dots yet? Our FB program just can’t seem to do what is required of them off the field right now and contact tracing is now running rampant through our athletic department. SMHpostalapp90 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 4:39 pmSaw that the womens volleyball match at the Stink next weekend was postponed. Anyone know if the football situation is related to this.
And this isn’t new, y’all. It started back in the summer with some of the biggest names on the FB team. This is a pattern of reckless behavior and it starts with the coaches. Be better and let’s please play some football again!
