Re: Will we ever be okay again?
Ummmm yes we will be fine, haha.
Here’s an even scarier thought.
What if we stayed FCS and fell off and became Delaware or Youngstown State.
Personally I still think we are Boise State east. We are just missing that signature bowl win.

I was thinking, “Oh crap, another Covid thread. Nothing can be worse than another Covid thread.”
I was wrong.
I was wrong.

Don't be a bunch of pansy asses like say a tarhole fan.....geez! I have followed college football a very long time and am fairly football knowledgeable. I understand our history as well as the realities of who we are unlike a UNCConcord fan......but given this preface......Hell, I think of ourselves as the next Alabama.baby even if we are currently locked in G5 purgatory. We are APP State baby! So start acting like it. Anytime, Anywhere.
KICK ASS!!!

Re: Will we ever be okay again?
I think we’re all clear that this thread is an overreaction (to put it charitably), but it (accidentally) touches on an important point.
Twenty-two months ago, an 11-2 Fresno State team, fresh off of a Mountain West championship win over Boise State, took on Arizona State in the Las Vegas Bowl. Now, Arizona State wasn’t amazing in 2018—7-5 going into that game—but Herm Edwards was turning heads in his first year as their head coach, they had knocked off several ranked teams, and were generating some real excitement.
Nevertheless, Fresno State won that bowl game too and finished 12-2, ranked number 18 in both major polls.
And now, not even 2 years later, they’re a cautionary tale of what we’ll become because we lost one game?
Yes, get a grip. But also, maybe follow some G5 programs that aren’t ours if you want others to take us so seriously.

Another thread going nowhere. Virtually nobody is “ok” right now but hopefully very soon will be. Same boat

What is the point and what is the basis for concern? Stupid TMZ thread.

Re: Will we ever be okay again?
There has been a small vocal group who immediately started projecting our loss to Marshall out to conclusions on our head coach and the staff. This is a huge over-reaction in my view. I don't know if that is the concern of the OP but at this point I am NOT concerned. We have a new staff with a first year head coach who have had to execute a transition in the absolute WORST conditions possible. Trying to build team chemistry (even amongst the coaching staff) using Zoom meeting in lieu of face-to-face, missing practices, Covid Testing, etc. etc. etc.
The reason Coach Clark was a solid hire is that he possesses the technical skills and is a true believer in the App State Culture! His management skills and style will evolve. I think that we will see things looking more than "OK" this season, but with all the junk going on I am not going to melt down if there is a stumble. I won't be happy, but this is a crazy year. The future still looks more than "OK" for App Football....It looks BRIGHT to me!
GO APPS!!!
