When the combined total for those previous 5 games is that low (33), it's not too sad...especially given that it was a run away win for App and we were deep on the depth charts for some of those points. App still won by 28 points. Maybe it's the former football player coming out in me, but I never get caught up on what we did against a certain opponent in the past.
Tx State had some success running the ball against us last week. The Cats have shown they can run the ball too, so App has to be strong against the rush early.
Also, it's critical for us to stay healthy. I'm sorry to see Daetrich Harrington gone for the season but we we're deep at RB. On the other hand, Hennigan's banged up, Virgil is still a question mark and we're thinner than we'd like at TE.
And while Noel has really stepped up and Malik's still doing his thing, we're coming into the toughest part of our schedule. It wouldn't take many hiccups in our receiver corps to really hurt our chances for another SB conference title.
Finally, you know Elliott still has a lot to prove, new contract notwithstanding. He'll have his kids pumped to play App today.
Every program we play wants to take a shot at the Champs and we should expect to see a higher level of competition on the field every week.
