Surprised there’s a line on it at all given uncertainty on ZT’s health.

They have to put one out on it. I just wish I knew what Zac's status would be. If I was not an App fan I would bet for sure. That line will jump up big time if Zac is announced out before game day.

If ZT is out then the line will definitely jump up. I would expect people to take CCU at 4.5 in MB. I would not be shocked if we lose by 20 but that would mean we have been holding back on offense. I will be happy if we can just keep this close. I definitely don't expect a win here, even though we have the talent to beat them.

Already down to 3 1/2.

If there is a potential silver lining I could see the offense having a bit more urgency

Too much negativity everywhere. If ZT is out we are the underdogs, if hes in its a toss up. We definately have the best defense CCU has and will see this year. The offense has to be better but i believe it will be enough. A little optimism and trust in the team that has won the conference how many years since it joined ???

Looks like basically the home field advantage.

On Saturday we get to play, an undefeated number 15 team. It’s in conference and it only a short bus drive. Some would say opportunity is knocking. Our guys need to know that opportunity has torn the door off the hinges, looked us dead in the eye, poked it’s finger in our chest and dared our guys to walk through that open door. Let’s see what we have.

I will take the UNDER. Coastal is not scoring more than 17 on our defense. I hope our offense has been sandbagging.

I think we could hold them to 17 but I could also see them putting up 25 or so. I hope and pray you are right about sandbagging.

So, after we give them the obligatory opening drive TD like we've done most of the other games, we can hold the #15 team in the country to 10 points the rest of the game? If the last game means anything. Every Saturday is a reset. I'd feel better about winning if our offense was playing to their potential, our defense is though.
What is the under 51? Our team will surely help the under on both sides of the ball.

Wow, depends on where or what site you are looking at. I think betting sites will go towards Coastal.
If you look at ranking sites:
ESPN has us as a 59% to 41% underdog. Looking statistically the teams are within 15 yards and 6 points of being
pretty much the same.
Sagarin has us as a .3 point underdog.
Massey has us as a 58% favorite to win 27-24.
Injuries, COVID, rest, rust..... Which team shows up ready to play and puts together and executes the best game plan.....

I'm going to be positive and say this could be like the Toledo bowl game a few years ago when no one gave App a chance. App was an underdog then as now and the defense smothered the Rockets. With this D it could happen again.

We do seem to always play better as the underdog. And let’s hope we get the o line back to full strength.

With a lot more emotion than displayed for 53 minutes Saturday, or with the emotion put on for last seven minutes, we have a chance.

First let me say I hope zt heals up quickly. On a human level we all want him healthy and ok. From a football perspective I am intrigued by huesman playing Saturday. Our offense has been pretty stagnant and yes playcalling is suspect but one bigger issue has been the lack of urgency and fire. I like disciplined football. I’m not suggesting personal antics. I am hoping for more energy out of the offense. I’ve said all year Thomas is playing like he’s at a quarterback camp. Average numbers and mostly just posing. Not saying he doesn’t care but his body language is flat and has been for a while. I watched the coastal qb couple times and and even the Charlotte qb and those kids are getting everything they can out of their ability and it shows. I want more of that from our qb and hopefully we’ll see it Saturday.

Can anyone post or report to us on the SP+ rankings/ratings?
I cannot get to the bottom of the ESPN article showing where App is. I'm pretty sure App is ranked above Coastal. IMO, SP+ is one of the best predictors of the result of the game.
