Thanks for posting! I like hearing coach had a "heart to heart, come to Jesus meeting" with the OLine. Hopefully that translates into some road grading this weekend.
They needed a good talking to. They got pushed around until right before we scored. I’m glad they rallied together at the end, but it should have happened from the start. Glad to hear Zac is doing well. Seeing that ambulance come on the field was terrifying since the play occurred on the opposite side of the field we were sitting at.
The play calling against Marsha and Gag St. was the same as it was against Arkansas St. We have an experienced offense but we aren’t playing with the complete puzzle. Sutton is out. Hennigan isn’t 100%. Virgil isn’t 100%. Pearson missed games. Williams, Harrington and Peoples are not the same RB combo as Evans, Williams and Harrington. Hodges out meant that we were using a TE that probably wouldn’t see the field to help block the edge. Evans stepped up at TE and now Gibbs has stepped up in Evans’ abscence. But Pearson and Gibbs aren’t the same duo as Reed and Pearson. Some of ya’ll need to take a step back and look at the whole picture and CtFD!WataugaMan wrote: ↑Tue Nov 17, 2020 7:47 amLast I heard he stated he thought Petersen called a good game. Thus, unless Jesus does intervene it's more of the same.
No need to shoot the messenger, I'm just restating what Clark said. And, from what you have written and what Clark said, expect more to the same. We are 6-1. What’s the problem? We are getting it done with guys stepping up and giving their all. “Winning is Winning”WataugaMan wrote: ↑Tue Nov 17, 2020 9:11 amNo need to shoot the messenger, I'm just restating what Clark said. I think that SC’s tongue in cheek comment about going to the triple option Saturday with JH (if he has to play) could have been a general shot at lots of wanna be coaches screaming for more offense. I want to believe that our coaching staff fully realizes that certain aspects of the offense isn’t working or needs to be tweaked. Sean made a great comment that many people easily forget- it’s hard to win games and we are 6-1 and lots of teams out there would love to be 6-1. People who complain excessively should also be reminded that teams we play actively recruit, practice and compete to win, even against us. We tend to focus on a win-loss record and previous results and expect to blowout what we perceive as inferior competition. You never know what’s going on with a team as far as injury or other situations. Young guys 18-22 don’t always do what we as old dudes expect. At the end of the day a win is a win. Let’s get another one Saturday.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 17, 2020 8:54 amThe play calling against Marsha and Gag St. was the same as it was against Arkansas St. We have an experienced offense but we aren’t playing with the complete puzzle. It's may guess after hearing Clark's interviews and what has been discussed on this board that not much is going to change in the way of play calling this Saturday. With Cooper Hodges back and more motivation from the OL hopefully we'll see a lot of improvement from the offense Saturday.
