Brice to App
Was good at Clemson, struggled this yr at Duke, but had shaky OL. Constantly pressured. We'll see.

Re: Brice to App
Brice is slooooooooooow moving. No fast twitch muscle. Runs a 40 yd in .......well, he would get tackled after 3 yds, so the 40 yd dash is irrelevant. Cannot scramble. Throws waaaaaaaay too hard. Watched every Duke game this year, you decide.

Re: Brice to App
In one of the articles it was stated that he walked with his teammates at Clemson. How is this possible if he played at Duke this past fall? Wouldn't he have graduated with a degree from Duke and therefore not graduate from Clemson? I know some post grad programs allow a student to attend classes at another school for a semester or two but still graduate from their school but I have never heard of this in undergrad and especially not in a situation where the guy played NCAA sports for the other school. This perplexes me and if anyone knows the answer please let me know.

They also wanted Hunter Johnson, who transferred to Northwestern, and he ended up commanding what is perhaps the worst collegiate offense ever in 2019. Not saying Brice you won’t be good but just because at one point he was recruited there doesn’t mean he’s good now. Unfortunately. I do think he can be successful here though. We will see.

Re: Brice to App
Maybe Duke didn’t use him correctly or what, but watched 90% of his snaps at Clemson and I thought he looked solid, solid enough to light up most of our conference, so we’ll see what happens. Obviously Clemson has more talent than Duke, so that clearly helps. The OC has a lot to prove in my eyes, so I’m excited to see what he can do next year.

Harris Roberts did it a few years ago. He was the QB at Furman, but actually drove to Clemson to take classes because Furman doesn't have an Engineering Program:t4pizza wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 4:15 pmIn one of the articles it was stated that he walked with his teammates at Clemson. Re: Brice to App
Did Duke have the running game App has? No
This will provide a better balance for Brice

As long as our goal is to not just hand him the keys and we have him compete for the job, I think this could be good. I just dont want to see some Joe Burchette back there lumbering around in the pocket.

Re: Brice to App
Two fun stats to ponder.
Appalachians pass protection was spotty at best and gave up 21 sacks this season. The Blue Devils allowed 37 sacks in one less game. Is it bad oline play or Brice holding the ball to long? I admittedly didnt watch a Duke game this year so I cant say. But that stat is crazy.
Hennigan and Williams averaged just over 13 yards per catch. Dukes top 2 receivers were at 10 yards per catch. Is this a lack of separation and YAC, again without seeing tape, who knows.
Gonna go watch a couple Duke games and see what my eyes tell me are the reasoning for the stats.

As they say about Dook... Hard to get in... But easy to stay in. I am sure he had 4.7 on a 4.0 scale in basket weaving.TurfMonkey wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 5:57 pmGlad he was able to get his grades up enough to get into App.

Haven’t we had some former 4 star guys transfer in and they barely played (if at all)? Let the guy try to earn a spot.

Re: Brice to App
Of course he'll have to earn the spot. Why would we think otherwise? But he certainly has a head start over redshirt and true freshmen. I think we should welcome him to Boone like any recruit. He wants to be a Mountaineer and the coaches went after him just like any other recruit. No need to poo-poo him.

After watching some of his film I can safely say Joe Burchette he is not.appstatealum wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 5:40 pmAs long as our goal is to not just hand him the keys and we have him compete for the job, I think this could be good.
