With the NEZ Project completion, anyone know what is or may be coming next?

If we are talking KBS Stadium only, I hope we get better stadium lighting and better placement for TV cameras. Tough viewing a game when the camera is perched on top of Howards Knob..lol

So, nothing official on future KB projects?

I’ve heard the eventual plan is to connect the exterior concourse of the as-yet-unfinished NEZ complex with the west side, but I haven’t seen anything official about it.

I think the next football projects we’ll see are expanding the indoor facility andcosmetic touch ups like major power washing of the concrete. Before the East and west sides are connected the east side needs to be torn down and re-done. The only eye sore left at KBS.

The concrete on the West side is in disrepair in some spots. I think the West side stands need to be replaced first.

I know Gillin had mentioned wanting to complete the connection of both sides with the North End zone by the time UNCheat comes to Boone..

But that was pre-Covid and messing up the entire budget and forecasting.

A NEZ connector concourse seems like the only "small potatoes" project left. After that, we could be looking at 10 years out for things like replacing the East or West stands.

We've had some extreme wish fulfillment in the last year: track removal, NEZ facility, and re-grading the hill. I'm content for the moment. Excited for the new track, softball, and tennis facilities at App 105.

I suspect this is the case. Finishing up the NEZ project as well a a NEZ connector concourse will probably be the only new major KBS upgrades for the next 8-10 years. Gotta pay those bills...

Folks, App State Nation has to raise some serious revenue over the next three to six years to wipe out some of the debt already incurred. Year 2020 hasn't been kind to collegiate athletic programs anywhere--but it has been an appsolute financial disaster for our Alma Mater.

Likewise. I love the sightlines from the top of the East side and think the Concourse functions better. I'm sure we could cosmetically improve the "suites" on the top of East and could redo/dress up the ramps (possibly eliminating one of them with a connected concourse would help)

However, if we fill up the East Side for every game, there's no way it's an Eyesore.

The ramps are bad, the aluminum is bad, but i don’t think anything over there needs to be replaced. It could get a brick facade to match the west side and be just fine.

Getting rid of the plastic wrap. Should be inexpensive.

When I win the mega millions tonight, I'm going to Doug and asking him how much he needs to get rid of those ramps. Otherwise, I think everything is fine with the east stands.

🤣 for the concourse that connects the north end zone to the east stands I’m envisioning a split-level ramp. One side has a gentle grade that gets you from the NEZ concourse level to the existing east side concourse level, the other side has a slightly steeper grade that gets you up to the upper deck. That would bowl in the NE corner and create some interior and exterior wall space for player enshrinements, Block A logos, etc. it would make for an impressive and imposing sight as you come up stadium drive.
