The REAL Story

Unread post by InFor6More » Wed Jan 20, 2021 9:09 pm

I was looking through my 2012 media guide recently and toward the back there is a page breaking down the Miracle on the Mountain play and on the next play are the stats from the Michigan game. That got me thinking. I’ve heard a couple variations and some theories on what really happened to Armanti’s foot but will someone private message me with the real, uncut story? Just curious....and kind of bored now that it’s the off-season.

I was reading your post and immediately began to wonder why you'd ask for the "real, uncut" story to be "whispered" into your ear to the exclusion of everyone else. If you have reliableinformation from a reliable source that the story that we were told at the time of AE's accident was lacking in the fact department, I think it would be of high interest to everyone. If, on the other hand, you have only a mish-mash of rumor/wild speculation from AE's roommate's second cousin's ex who lived in Salt Platte, Utah at the time and has never even met AE, you should drop it like white-hot steel off of the blacksmith's forge. AE might not take too kindly to you dredging up things from his life 8 or 9 years ago+! He might seek to discus it with you alone somewhere.

Armanti is said to have cut his foot in a lawn mower accident.

There’s a lot of rumors out there, I’ve heard several (some share similarities between them, some are completely different). Point being, enough time has elapsed that the “truth” probably won’t be easily sourced, nor does it really need to be. It’s the past, he cut his foot. It is what it is.

I guess I'm out of the loop on the rumor mill, lawnmower accident is all i've ever heard. And this is just an internet message board. Nobody really takes to heart what is said here. I say, air it out. Let's hear the rumors, just for kicks and grins. If someone has intel that he was actually an alien and the injury was related to the battle with the force, I'd be all in on that. No doubt he did some super-human stunts on the field.

He time travelled and ended up in the middle ages, where he was injured in a jousting competition. He ultimately defeated the evil dark knight and got the girl.

In no way would I think of tarnishing his legacy, thus why I asked for a private message. If it was a lawn mower accident then I can accept that, it there was more, I’m simply interesting in hearing. asu66 is right, it’s not my business to know, but that doesn’t change the fact that I love a good story, especially when it’s about the greatest player on the only team that I pull for.

It is actually none of our business, but much of what is discussed here is NOOB either so I don't find it particularly appalling or disgusting that someone asked a question he was cuarius about, and invited the potential responder to answer privately so as not to start a rukus. I saw nothing in his post that indicated anyting but curiousity, nothing malicious and certainly nothing to warrant a condescending beat-down for posing a question.

I heard when he was born they dipped him in Watauga Lake, but had to hold on to his foot to give Michigan a fighting chance.

The story I heard is that when AE was leaping buildings on a single leap, he got his foot caught on one of the lightning rods at top of building. He was told prior to his leap it was a 27 story building. It was actually a 28 story building. As such, he was a little short on the jump. Just what heard from family and friends...

reputable sources...He was teaching Chuck Norris proper technique for a roundhouse kick and hit Chuck in the mouth, which is proper technique. He didn't know that Chuck's teeth are razor sharp and cut AE's foot. Chuck thanked AE for the lesson.

When Scott Riddle (Elon qb) realized that the dirty hits delivered by the Elon defense wouldn’t sideline AE, SR paid his father to finish the job.

He probably got an infection when he pulled his foot out of the cantamounts intestines, after shoving it 3 feet up their ass in the previous 2 seasons.

Since we're speaking of AE in this thread, here's the most recent "Real Story" about the now 32 year-old App honor grad, Mountaineer great, family man with a wife and two children and still an active CFL pro football player in Edmonton, Alberta.

I've heard the rumors too. But you know what? It is between Coach Moore and AE; two black and gold men in whom I have great trust.
Moving on.

A very nice article on AE. Thanks for sharing the link! Wondering if AE would make a good coach when he is finished playing in Canada....hmmm....QB/Receiver combo coach maybe?
